Remarks

For general males, you must atleast have 22000 ranks in jee mains to get admitted in this course. There is a reservation for sc, st, females, obc, ews and PWD candidates. The admission process is very smooth and all staff members help a lot during admission.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because the placement was very good and also because of my interest in physics. There are approximately 170+ teachers and 4000+ students on the campus. All faculties have completed their PhD degrees and their assistants are pursuing PhD in the college.

Class Size: 114Course Fees: INR 242000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Being in 1st year not yet come across these things so can't answer them. Hope to answer them in future. But whatever heard from seniors the internship here was 50% so ya that was also a great thing and they are trying their level best to take it 100%.

Placement Experience

The placements are too good here. Nit Jamshedpur is the 4th nit in terms of Placement the average production branch here is 10lpa and the median as well is 10 LPA. It is the sole reason many students for selecting this college

Fees and Financial Aid

Every semester we have to pay 1 21,000 which includes 32000 mess and hostel fees. Only for 1st semester, we had to pay 1,23,000. There are a lot of scholarship opportunities here for females, minorities, etc.

Campus Life

Annual fests include urja, pravardhaan, etc. There are a whole lot of books available in the library and the library is quite big. With a lot of sports opportunities on campus, you won't face any issues with sports. Almost every group and club is run by the students here like the student council, lecture and debating society, etc.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel rooms are well furnished and you won't face any issues staying here in fact from 2nd year you get single rooms which barely any college provides. Meal quality is decent and it is better than most other institutions. Hostels are affordable you only have to pay 32000 per semester for hostel+mess.

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
