Remarks
The B. El Ed. course has set eligibility criteria as a 12th passed with a minimum of 60% overall marks. In the year in which I enrolled, the University had conducted DUET. This year the exam has been centralized to CUET. The form-filling procedure is simple yet tune consuming. The application can be filled out through the DU website. The University offers reservations to different sections of society like OBC-ncl, SC, ST, etc. The different colleges that offer B. El. Ed. The course have different fees. The list is uploaded continually on one website.
Course Curriculum Overview
The main motive to choose this course was to help children around, learn and educate. The quality of faculty and their knowledge is top tier but the quantity does not match the strength of each class. The student-pupil ratio is quite unfavorable,1:60. Faculty is well qualified and some of them use appropriate teaching-learning methods whereas some do not take pain to teach or take classes properly. B. El Ed department organizes exams on an annual basis. Exams take place simultaneously with sem 2,4and 6. In between, there are assignments and presentations, and others on fieldwork. It's important for one to crack and pass the examination as the course is different from other courses. If one gets ER(fail) in one exam, then the student will be promoted and they will have to give retest next year with a new batch. Also, if a student fails 2 exams, they will be detained and will not be promoted, and will not be given a chance to give retest.
Internships Opportunities
Many messages and information are forwarded by the placement cell for internships and placements. Although the opportunities shared are not as per our field of expertise.
Fees and Financial Aid
As the course works in annual mode, the fee paid is for a whole year itself. The first year fee sums up to approximately 16800. The second-year fee sums up to approximately 15700. The third-year fee sums up to approximately 18600. There is no option to pay fees in installments. There are opportunities for placements and internships, shared by the placement cell of the college.
Campus Life
Life on campus feels cool and all as shown in the movies. But real life is actually different from reel life. There's a lot more to study, research and reflect on along with a dash of fun, clubbing, etc. Infrastructure is not really stood up to the mark that I expected being situated in south Delhi and also being the best women's college. Reverie is the annual fest of the college. The dept has a print-rich resource room. The college has a great Library but with less seating. Normal classes have 5 tube lights and fans whereas laboratories of the science dept have air conditioners in them. All sorts of sports and ECA are available in college and are encouraged. The college has its own societies for dance, singing, debate, etc. Also, the beled dept has societies for drama, singing, dance, literature, etc
