Remarks

The admissions are done based on JEE MAIN marks. One has to apply for counseling named JAC Chandigarh. Admissions are on a merit basis. It doesn't have any state quota, so diversity is great here.

Course Curriculum Overview

The faculty is quite good and knowledgeable. All faculties are passed out from good colleges. They are cooperative and support students with their doubts about the subjects. There are 2 minor exams and one-semester exam in each semester which are called majors. Minors are 30 marks and majors are 50 marks. Rest 20 are in internal assessment. Passing the exams is not a great deal here. The passing percentage is very good.

Internships Opportunities

Internship opportunities in the college are not that many. Our college has DIC (design and innovative center) which provides internships to students. They help students make projects during the course.

Placement Experience

Campus placements are good here and rising every year. The average package has risen to 8 lacs while the highest was around 32 lacs on campus. About 80% of students get placements from here. Every year, companies like KPMG, TCS, American express, policy bazaar, etc. visit the campus.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since it is a government college, so the fee is very justified and low. The college charges around 1 lac per year as a tuition fee. So overall you get the degree in around 4lacs. The hostel prices are very low 8,000 per semester.

Campus Life

Life on the campus is awesome. Panjab University campus is very famous in Chandigarh. The infrastructure of the college is not as nice as that of a private college. The college has all the facilities like the library, wifi, etc. Our college has 15-17 clubs run by students. We have all types of clubs like tech, singing, dancing, entrepreneurship, placement cell, etc.

Placement are provided by the college and Good offers are made by the companies. Like in cse , ece and ee have good placements but in lower branch percentage placements is a bit lower, but overall average and median package is good ( 70%) Highest placement was 61 lpa of 2025 median was 13 lpa.

Punjab Engineering College through an Unfiltered lens .

Placement Experience:

placement stats of my college is great. Better than most of the colleges out there . Even better than many NITs and IIITs , with an avg package of 14-16 LPA . And every year the Median and Avg package is increasing . Highest package till now - 83 LPA . Students are allowed for campus placements after 5th semister All the big companies out there , from Google , microsoft , amazon to Delloete , JP Morgan , AmericanExpress , to seimens, oracle , L&T , all companies come here . around 70-75% students gets placed from here My plan is to get the highest paying job offer possible for me , that's it .

PEC is great choice

Placement Experience:

placements from rti report placement percentage is over 75 + and in ee its 74 percent cse 93 and ece 84 percent avg for cse is 18 lakhs and ece is 16 lakhs ee its 14 lakh and other branches have 8 10 lakh avg but the placemnt percentage in mechncial is 70 percent other branches like civil production have a little less percentage of placements but they have opportunities in college

PEC life in a nutshell

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am in first year and first year is same for all branches, so I don't know a lot about electrical engineering specifically. But of what I have heard from seniors, electrical branch is more difficult, and in pec u get not that many core companies. While u get a lot of finance, IT, coding etc companies.

Yes,very good college placements are available in our college.Students of 8 semester that is 4th year students are eligible for campus placement Companies such as TCS,wipro,amex,gemini solutions and etc many more companies are there for placement 60-80% students got placed in the companies with an average package of 8 lakhs and with a highest package of 35 lakhs Iam oriented towards govt jobs and in future if I will be interested in coding sector I will do preparation for off campus and specifically for Rubrik

Placement Experience:

Placement do occur in the college. It's average package is around 7.5, lakh. Since I am the first year right now, I don't have data to support the placement record, but some of my seniors of fourth year are getting placed. One of my IT senior got placed for 14 LPA and other other, my Cse senior got placed for around 12 LPA. so opportunities are there for those who want to do something

One can get admission in UIET, CHD by applying for JAC CHANDIGARH counselling. One has to give JEE mains exam and based on its score, JAC Chandigarh conducts counselling through which admissions process occurs. I applied for YMCA Faridabad and DCRUST Murthal as well. I also applied for JOSAA counselling but due to my low rank in JEE mains, I couldn't get any NIT or IIIT. I was getting YMCA or DCRUST but choose UIET over them, because of its location.
