Remarks
The admission process was simple, you go on to Delhi University's website and follow the simple procedure of applying by filling in all the necessary fields and mentioning all the documents received from your school. Admission was done on 12th class marks. All the colleges release a cutoff for the courses they are offering in various rounds. When you have applied online then you have to select the courses you want to apply then the colleges you want to get admission in. You have to produce valid documents for reservation, marks, transfer, etc. On the day of admission followed by the cutoff release date, the net cutoff is released after 3-4 days. Now the admission process has changed. Delhi University is mainly taking admission through the entrance exam now. So, it was fairly easy to get into college now it's an added step.
Course Curriculum Overview
In my 12th class, I opted for computer science subject and liked it, I couldn't get admission to a good college for B.Tech. and I was not able to pay the fees for private colleges which were good. So, I decided to do B.Sc. Hons. In computer science. The college itself is not bad, good campus, we share it with Aryabhatta college, which makes it little fun, the crowd is mixed and there is always some event going on in Aryabhatta college that everyone from RLA can enjoy. The faculty is also really helpful and good, all the facilities in my course were at least postgraduate. The faculty was supportive and never once questioned me about joining the dance society which could affect my lectures, attendance, or marks, they just asked me to be present when important and submit all assignments and give all tests and quizzes. Exams in DU could be easily understood and cleared with the help of previous year's question papers help.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees in DU colleges are almost similar and reasonable, the computer science course has a bit higher fee than other courses, 59000 per semester, financial assistance for the reserved class was there, placements were not good, mostly offers were of internships and only 3 start-ups came for computer science-specific work profile, and only 1 of they were paying a stipend of 15K per month.
Campus Life
The annual freshers, a 3-day fest, named Splendor, and then a farewell at the end of the academic year. All the events are lively and a blast, the college organizes them with all the power they have, and a celebrity also comes on the final day of the fest for a performance. All three events have a great DJ night and as farewell and freshers are for college students only, we have a good food facility during these. Books are readily available in the big and beautiful library; we can issue up to 3 books in front of the library. Classrooms were not AC, computer labs were air-conditioned, we had this luxury as compared to other courses. Classrooms have projectors. There is a variety of sports and societies to take part in, and NCC and NSS are also there. Societies are mainly run by students and college doesn't provide financial help, but we get relaxation in attendance. Students and societies organize events that other college students can take part in and enjoy. The crowd is good, I made a lot of good friends in college.
