Remarks
I filled out the form from the University of Delhi for merit-based admissions. Due to Covid, the whole process was online last year. We had to fill in personal details, marks of the best 4 we scored, self-attested photographs, a mark sheet, and the signature of the candidate. Then after the cut-off is out we check for which college the student is eligible for. A student can only apply for 1 college at a time. There are 5-6 cut-offs. And a student can change college if they get a better one in the next cut-off by canceling the application of the previously chosen college. A small fee of 100 rupees would have to be submitted for changing the college after selecting one. There is a spot cut off too but I don't know much about that because I got my college in the 1st cut-off only. Overall the experience was easy because of the online process. The minimum percentage for history honors at a good college was at least 94-95%. There is no age limit but the student should pass the 10+2 class from an approved board.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is interesting. Starts from prehistoric times, the stone Age, etc. Then like human evolution, the course teaches us the history of humans. There are 2 subjects in the first year, focusing both on India and the Western World. The first year also has AECC as one of the subjects in which you study English and EVS. The second year also has divided the history of India and the Western World. It also has AEEC related to your course only. The third year has Indian history with Western history of America, Europe, and China/Japan. The faculty is good and experienced. They are always for helping students both in studies and outside that.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are not that much. It is quite affordable compared to private colleges. There are scholarships for EWS students and physically challenged students. The faculty also helps in notifying students about scholarships.
Campus Life
There are many books available in the college library across different fields. Students can access the books online as well as offline. The library staff is helpful. There are many sports available on the college campus and the college has one of the biggest grounds in the university. There are basketball courts and facilities of athletics as well. There are various societies also which are run by the students only. The societies organize fests as well.
