Remarks

The admission can be taken under government merit, management quota and NRI quota. For getting admission in the government quota, a KEAM score will be considered, and you need to have a rank above 30000 to get shortlisted. There is a reservation for certain Christian communities. For admission under government merit, you should write the KEAM exam, wait for the result and then opt for Mar Baselios College and your option will be submitted after paying a fee of rupees 10000 to CEE, which will be later refunded from the college. After getting an allotment you have to attend college, attend counselling sessions and pay the fees. The fees will be Rs 1,96,000 for the 1st year, which includes 100000 as an interest-free refundable deposit, and 10000 rs as special fees. For the management quota, you have to apply on the college website and based on the 10, 12 exam ranking and KEAM rank, the branch will be allotted. For admission under the NRI quota, you have to apply through the college website, deposit not refund

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Nw, the college is autonomous and they have modified the syllabus. New industrial-oriented courses are added to the syllabus of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (KTU). Student intake in every class is 60, which is the maximum. Usually, computer science engineering seats are filled. Faculties are well trained and knowledgeable, though they teach only exam-oriented. College exams are conducted in a timely and fair manner, exams are easy to be passed if the notes given by the teachers are correctly followed.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

I am an electronics and communications student, our branch conducts an internship every year on Assistive technology, which includes field experiences. At the end of the internship, students are supposed to submit a project and present it, making the internship very valuable. The internship is less expensive than 100-200 Rs, but it's really worth it. Students are doing internships by applying via LinkedIn also, and most are unpaid.

Placement Experience

3.5

Students are eligible to appear for placements from their final year, ie sem 7. Most students are placed in IT companies like Infosys, Wipro, TCS, and Cognizant, which they get through giving all India level tests. Core companies for non-IT departments are fewer. For the electronics and communication branch, a Trivandrum technopark-based company Vinvish has taken many students with 28000 per month salary. The average salary of students placed in the college is 360000 per annum. Many students got multiple offers also. The average placement percentage is 60-70% and most of the company has no I've backlog criteria, making placements lesser.

Fees and Financial Aid

Mar Baselios College is known to take very high fees. They have taken 10000 Rs extra each year even though the CEE has prescribed only to take 75000. They will deduct money from your caution deposit for bringing placement teams to college which is not justified. Even during the covid times, the college hasn't reduced fees, as the online classes were not worth it. Even for placement training students have to put their own money, though they are taking 10000 extra as special fees for this.

Campus Life

3.5

Annual fests and tech fests are conducted with strict discipline and students must adhere to the time prescribed y the college. The annual Mar Baselios, crossroads annual fest is very famous and students from various colleges come to attend the event. The college has a very vast library with friendly staff, the library is open on Saturdays also to let students study there. There are many books and journals in the library and there is a digital library also. Classrooms are spacious with good facilities like projectors. The college has a separate department for physical education and encourages sports like football, volleyball, badminton and basketball. Inter-college matches are conducted by the college every year. There are social groups and clubs in the college though they are not very active due to the strict schedule of the college. All events are conducted during lunchtime or on holidays. The college has NSS unit 230, which is very active and has many volunteers.
