NIT JAMSHEDPUR college review

To get admission to NIT Jamshedpur, first of all, you have to clear jee mains exam with a good percentile as of this the opening rank of civil engineering was 1380 and the closing rank was about 65k. And the ranking of college according to the data is not much good as it lacks some good infrastructures in libraries and labs. It also lacks some good plantations on the campus. Reservation of seats is also provided as it is a college of national importance. Due to Reservations, the ranks vary very much to get admission to this college. There are also girls' seats available in this college. The campus is good as it provides two mega hostels for 2nd and 3rd-year students in BTech with a single room but for first-year students, it provides two-seater rooms and the quality of food in the mess is not much good but is decent as compared to another college. Some demerits of the college are that the academic building is a little far away from the hostel and it lacks some market area near the campus.

I opt. for this course because my rank was not much good but I could choose the other college for this branch I have chosen this college due to the high placement ratio in the core branch. Faculty to student ratio is also good and the qualification of faculties is also very high as the maths proof comes under 1% of the researchers in the world. Exams are held timely to cover all the topics as we are the covid batch and our course was delayed but College is trying to recover this till 3rd sem so that we do not have burden due to this. And the exam is easy to pass as most of the questions come from the teachers' notes that are taught in the class.

The internship is offered generally at the beginning of the 7th semester. The majority of the interested students get internships and most of the students get PPO through their internships. This year many companies came for internships currently in civil seniors have got internships in NHAI currently.

Placements are very good in our college as the placement of the noncore branch is good for all branches but for the core branch the placement is not good for every college but in our college, the placement of even production and metallurgy branch is very good as the average placement of this branch is above 7 lac per annum. 100 % students were placed in cse and ece branch this year and overall above 85%, of students, got placed this year. the highest placement was 75 lac and the average placement was 15 lac overall for the college.

The course fee for the BTech students is 104000 per annum. But for the economically weaker section, there is a tuition fee waiver provided by the college. Students having family income less than 1lac per annum have zero tuition fees and 2/3rd fees are waived for the students having annual income less than 5 lacs. Students can apply for different scholarships provided by the government. The placement of the college is very good as this year the avg placement was 15 lacs and for the case, it was 25 lacs per annum. It was 100 % placed in the case and ece branch and in the overall placement, nearly 90% of students got placed.

Life at the campus is average as the market is very far away from the campus and there is a lack of transportation on the campus. There are very clubs in the college from sports, and cultural to tech clubs. They conduct different fests throughout the year. There are a large number of books available in the college library.

Hostel facilities are quite good as after the first year you get a single room with a separate balcony. And there is a common room on every floor of the hostel where you can watch tv and celebrate different things like birthday parties and others. Indoor games are also provided within the hostel like table tennis, carrom, ludo, chess, and others. The meal quality is not much good in the mess, especially for the veg students, but for the non, eg they get chicken thrice in the week and they get egg daily in the breakfast.
