Remarks

Through jeemain exam followed by josaa and csab special round counselling. If You have clear the cutoff of jeemain and also got the desired rank then you can join this college. This college has decent placement stats in the last few years.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course structure is quite good and students can also opt for yoga/Nss/lifeskills. Teachers are quite good and helpful but you may find exception with some teachers and that is common in evey college.

For Cs/Ece there will be 97-99% placement and for lower branches it may varry from 90-95%. Placement is quite descent in this nit as compare to the other similar level nits. If you are good in coding and maintain a good cg then very high chances of getting placed in best companies.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee of this college is little on a higher side if you compare from others nits but you can get fee remission on the basis of category and income. Also College allows the student to opt for scholarships.

Campus Life

Ojass, urja are the fests. Variety of books are available in library, students can easily acces the books. There are various grounds for cricket along with basketball and volleyball court. Nss sankalp .

Hostel Facilities

For first year student there are 2 sitter room. And from 2nd year you will get single room. Meal quality is good but not the best. Registration process for hostel is done along with josaa counseling. Outside the campus PGs are available.

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
