Remarks

The candidate who has passed 10+2 with the aggregate of 60% in PCM is eligible. They have to write WBJEE(West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam) scoring a good rank. They will find the application form on the website " wbjeeb.nic.in " around October every year. The application fee is 500 for general category candidates.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I got production Engineering in wbjee counseling. I opt for this because it's overall a great branch as it has some finance-related topics with a 70-80% syllabus of Mechanical Engineering. So, if anyone wants to do an MBA, he or she gets much-needed help and knowledge during this course. Professor - Student ratio is good (about 1:3) as we have a class strength of 40-45. Professors are highly qualified and one of the best in India. They have been awarded internationally for their research papers and inventions. Mid sem occurs ideally two times per semester and semester exams occur every 5 to 6 months.

Internships Opportunities

4

I am currently in my first year and the second semester so cannot tell you much about it. But, I know we have great companies coming on campus for internships in 3rd year with a thirty thousand (Rs 30,000)stipend average.

Placement Experience

5

Students are eligible for campus placement at end of 3rd year. Jadavpur University is known for its placement in West Bengal. Above 90% of students got placed in the 2021 batch having an average package of 10 LPA and the highest package of 65 LPA in Atlassian(from Electrical Engineering). Also, there is 100% placement in computer science with an average package of 20lpa and the highest of 56 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The four-year Engineering in Jadavpur University will cost you Rs 12,000(approx). Yes, you heard it right(if you don't know). Also, we have various state and central scholarships available like Aikashree(West Bengal state scholarship ) and NSP( central scholarship). Girls also get Kanyashre prakalp (a stipend to a girl child by the West Bengal government).

Campus Life

4.5

SANSKRITI is our annual fest and SRIJAN is our tech fest occurring from April to June every year. There is almost every book available which you will need in your four-year course. We have Inter-sports competitions in cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, badminton and much more. We have Inter department annual sports competition named U-TURN every year. Infrastructure is not like NIT, IIT, and BITs but It is acceptable as we are paying 12k as course fees of 4 years.

Placemeng isnt 100% . If you have the skill you will get placed thats the criteria.many people say you are in IIT your life is sorted .but that aint the reality

I read in CSE(AIML) AI ML perspective and couse curriculam inluenced me to admit in college. Teachers often make real-world applications gor any pariculatr topic. I think more practical based an implement based curriculam should be added rather than more theorital subs. Most case college is form 9am -5 pm Like (9-5 job) .

Students generally start getting their pre-placement offers from their 3rd year after completion of their internships other students gets their placement too in their final year. Starting from Apple to Google and Microsoft too hired some of our senior but the number of the students get placed in those tech giant companies is very less but there are mass recruiters too like TCS infosys PW chaitanya education TATA steel BHARAT petroleum and many other companies the offers are made based upon the eligibility of the students and the packages are decided based on the skillset and experience of the students . Highest package was 70 LPA this year and the average packages are also pretty good based upom the companies and their offers it ranges from 15-30 LPA .Almost 80-83% students gets placed but it depends on the branch of the students and their skillsets.I want to sit for GATE exam after completion of my BTech and want to persue MTech

Course Curriculum Overview:

The university is MAKAUT so the curriculum is up to the mark. I liked Programming so I chose B.TECH in CSE. The curriculum is very basic in terms of practical world problem though they are building blocks, but you need to do the extra bit of work to qualify for the real world scenarios. I think more mandatory projects integrated with current set of skills would be a cherry on top. Exams are very frequent like every 3-4 months there is a semester exam and they are moderately difficult.
