Remarks

One has to get a good ranking in CET or DCET and have completed 2/3 years of PUC or DIPLOMA. The administration quota is very high and one has to pass the PESSAT test to avail of a seat at PESU. Application forms, fees and dates are available in the admission section of the college. One can also see the dates and processes through the college website. One can avail of Reservation benefits if he/she belongs to a particular caste. Every student who applies for a scholarship gets a scholarship through the respective category portals. The whole admission process should be made online. Standing long queues in the admission process should stop and include online transactions for everything in and around the college. The document verification takes too long.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Exams were quite tougher. Exams conducted by PESU are as tough compared to the VTU paper. The exam timetable was placed in each and every department and are also available in the official PESU app. The seating allotment was only made available during the exam day. Usually, every exam paper is of 100 marks with 3 hours of duration. All the questions were compulsory. We had 5 sections and subsections in that and all 5 were compulsory. No choices were present or given to students to answer. Questions were very well prepared by the university professors. The grading system is CGPA and SGPA. One who fail in the particular subject then he has to reappear only during the summer term that has been conducted only one in a year and maximum of 28 credits. Each subject is divided into fundamental and core courses and each subject has its own credit system. Practical exam was of 1 credit. If you fail each credit costs you 1k. Overall exams were tougher and for the smart people it was easy.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell is very active in our college. Every year more than 30+ companies come to our college for recruitment . Our seniors from 7th semester get placed in many companies and before getting placed in the company our college offers internships to every student. Around 80 % of the students get placed in companies and work efficiently. The average package for civil engineering is 2.5 lakh per annum.

Placement Experience:

RIT's placement scenario is very good, even for the most unpopular branches such as Civil Engineering. Starting from the 7th semester, students are allowed to participate in campus recruitment, and companies come to the campus for the entire final year. The major recruiting companies are L&T Construction, Shapoorji Pallonji, Brigade Group, Sobha Developers, Atkins, PWD, and Infosys for the non-core sector. Civil students on an average get ?5–6 LPA as salary, and the highest offer is usually in the range of ?12–15 LPA, depending on the company and the position. Almost 70–80% of Civil students are placed, while some of them go for higher studies or government examination.Site engineer, design engineer, planning engineer, survey engineer, and trainee engineer are the core positions that are offered. Also, non-traditional roles in IT and consulting can be taken up by those who are not interested in core engineering profiles.I will first acquire some work experience in the industry after completing my degree and then will pursue a master's degree in structural engineering to gain further specialization.

Students become elegible for placements from 7th sem onwards but we are encouraged to do internship before final itself. Most of the companies that come here aren't t1 or even t2. Highest probably would be 12L only if the student is exceptional but most would secure a package 4-6. And the percentage of students getting placed is <50%
