Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is up to date. Love the way the physics and mathematics syllabus are designed. They do scratch the curiosity itch that many students have while also having real world examples embedded into it. The courses can be improved by having a few more subjects to choose from, especially in the first year. The frequency of exams can be decreased. Instead of 2 internals, we can have 1 mode sem exam.

Internships Opportunities

4

Top companies and innovative startups offer a lot of internship offers. They range from Morgan-Stanley to Flipkart and others. The roles range from SDE to basic jobs as well. The stipend range from a few thousand per month to upwards of 80 thousand per month. The university also offers internships in its newly opened Robotics lab from next year. And also in different other areas.

Placement Experience

5

The placements here are exceptional. You can enter placements from the 6th semester onwards, though you have to have an amazing resume do the talking for you. Around 200+ companies visit every year and offer the students. The highest package that went this year (even after recession) was (what I've heard) is above 60 LPA offered by Apple Inc. The average package even during recession is 12 LPA. Around 85 precent students eligible got placed. After the degree I am planning to get placed in a good company.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees is 4.8 Lakhs. Tution fees is 4.21 Lakhs. Exam fees is 10 thousand. Library and other resources fees are 11.4 thousand. University and other fees are 37.5 thousand. We can also avail certain scholarship as well: If in top 5% : 50% scholarship If in the next 20% : 40% scholarship If gpa > 7.75 : 2000 rupees

Campus Life

4

There are two campus events: Maaya and Atmatrisha held every year in the two campuses. Maaya is held in the beginning ofevery odd semester, while Atmatrisha is held in the beginning of every even semester. The library is vast in both the campuses. Each class is digitally equipped and rarely chalkboard teaching is done. There are a lot of clubs here, and they do events, quizzes here and there. I did participate in one and came 3rd.

Hostel Facilities

5

The first year hostel rooms are amazing. You have two bunk beds in a room, accommodating 4 students. Have 4 desks, 2 closets, half for each one, along with 4 drawers made into the 2 below beds. The rooms are spacious, have cleaning helpers clean the room everyday, the mess is big. The food is good, for hostel food, and on every other Sunday, has a mini feast, a all you can eat buffet, with items ranging from burgers to brownies, to veg and bon-veg biryani, to lemonades, to ice cream. Registration for hostel happens after you have selected a course on the counselling day. The rooms are alloted by the warden, after you have submitted the necessary documents and payment to him. The roommates you get are upto luck, though the warden makes sure that there is no language barrier between roomates.

Admission

I applied to KIIT, VIT, DSCE, BMSIT along with the usual IIT and NIT with BITS. I did not clear JEE, nor was able to get somewhat of a good score for CSE in BITS. I wanted to pursue CS, so instead of choosing a course I did not like in BITS, I chose CS in PESU. I chose PESU because the placements outdo the others, while also having a better reputation than the others. For our batch, it was giving the admission test called PESSAT, through which you got a rank, and based on that you could enter the counselling round and choose your course based on your rank. Now it has changed to a JEE based rank system. For students in Karnataka it is still KCET.

Faculty

4

The faculty here are good. They do spend time with the students making sure that they not only complete the syllabus but also help students understand. For each group of around 20 students, a faculty is assigned to be their mentor. Mentors keep check on every student, what the student's monthly goal is, how are they doing, academically and mentally. We have 2 internals and 1 end sem exams every semester. The internals are MCQ based, while the end sems are descriptive. They are moderate to a little bit sided towards hard.

Night Life

4

The gym at the campus is amazing. We have around 4-5 cafeterias in our campus. For odd sems the classes begin from 8 am and end at any time (depends on your class schedule) from 1 pm to 4 pm. For even sems the classes beitfrom 8:45 am and end, ranging from 1:45pm to 4:45 pm. The first year hostel curfew timings are 7pm, though can enter till 9pm. (The warden will do scold you though) From second year onwards it is 10pm. The above timings are for boys' hostel.

lacements at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology Placements at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology are decent overall, with stronger outcomes for CS-related branches and moderate but reliable opportunities for core branches like Chemical Engineering. ???? Placement Eligibility Students generally become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester (final year). Some companies also allow pre-placement offers (PPOs) through internships after the 6th semester. ???? Companies Visiting the Campus ???? Common Recruiters (Across Branches) TCS Infosys Wipro Accenture Cognizant Capgemini IBM L&T Deloitte (limited roles) ???? Core / Chemical-Related Opportunities L&T Reliance (limited roles) Schneider Electric Saint-Gobain Some manufacturing, quality, and operations-based companies Core chemical companies visit in limited numbers, so many Chemical Engineering students also sit for IT, analytics, and operations roles. ???? Packages Offered (Approximate) ???? Salary Range Highest Package (overall): ~?40–50 LPA (off-campus / international offer, mostly CS) Highest for Core / Chemical roles: ~?8–10 LPA Average Package (overall): ?7–8 LPA Average for Chemical Engineering: ?4–6 LPA ???? Job Profiles Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) Process / Quality Engineer Analyst / Consultant Software Engineer (for interested students) ???? Placement Percentage Overall placement rate: ~90–95% Chemical Engineering: ~60–70% Students with good CGPA, internships, and skills tend to get placed earlier and in better roles. ???? Employability & Skill Development The college provides: Placement training sessions Aptitude and soft-skill workshops Coding and interview preparation support However, students are expected to upskill on their own, especially for core industry roles or higher-paying profiles. ???? My Plans After Completing the Degree After completing my B.E. in Chemical Engineering, I plan to: Gain industry experience through campus placement or off-campus opportunities
