Remarks

The admission process was quite convenient & simplified as everything was done online. I opted for B.Com (Hons.), the eligibility for admission under it is, you have to compulsorily have Maths as one of your subjects in 12th and must clear the cutoffs :) Application forms and fee submission everything is done from Delhi University's Admission Portal itself. Once you clear the cutoff for a college, you can apply from DU's portal & once your documents are verified, after paying the fee your admission is confirmed. Overall it is an excellent college with excellent faculty, infrastructure is pretty good as per DU's norms, the crowd is also decent, and seniors are also pretty helpful and friendly. This college is just excellent, it's worth it, you would have a great time here and I promise you, you won't ever regret joining this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose to opt for B.Com (Hons.) as it is a great course with the latest curriculum according to the new finance/accounting trends and knowledge/info as the curriculum for B.Com (Hons.) was recently updated by DU a few years ago. The faculty: student ratio is 1:60 in core courses and 1:40 in vocational courses. The faculty are mostly all PHDs in their respective fields and are excellent professors and are helpful. The sem end exams were conducted as per the year calendar released by DU at the beginning of the year. Sem end exams are pretty easy to sail through if you have attended/studied all the lectures regularly.

Internships Opportunities

4

Various MNCs like EY, Wipro, ICICI Bank, Aditya Birla Capital, and startups offer internship opportunities to the students providing entry-level roles in the respective fields and a decent stipend somewhere around 10,000/month and a possibility of achieving PPO on a good performance.

Placement Experience

3

The students become eligible for placements from the 6th semester onwards. Many companies visit and hire from the college, including MNCs like EY, Wipro, ICICI Bank, Aditya Birla Group, etc. The packages range from as low as 2 LPA to as high as 12 LPA. The average is 3.5 LPA and about 50% of students get placements from campus placements. I plan to study for an MBA in finance after completion of my degree that's why I chose a finance/accounting-oriented course like B.Com (Hons.).

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is a bare minimum of 10150 p.a which is usually not increased every year apart from this if you are coming from another state to study, you would have to shell out money for living/food and other expenses additionally. Various scholarships and financial aid are provided by DU for the needy students, you can find more information regarding this on Delhi University's official website. The placement cell of college works actively to provide various opportunities in terms of internships and final placements to the students.

Campus Life

4

The cultural fest of College of Vocational Studies - TATVA is conducted annually in the month of April and their are many other fests of different societies in the months on April/May. The library of CVS is huge, all the course books and journals are available in the library for students to access. CVS has various different societies for students to choose from such as - Mercadeo (Marketing Society) , FIC (Finance and Investment Cell) , Enactus , Comsoc (Commerce society) , Msoc, ECONOX (Economics Society) , ZEPHYR (Dance Society), Dramanomics (Drama Society), Appregio (Music Society), Reverie(Cultural Wing) etc.

Other Applied Colleges

GGSIPU Delhi | BCom (Hons)

Cleared cutoff for VIPS pitampura didn’t opt as CVS, DU was better option for me.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I will rate the daulat ram course 8/10. One of the main reasons i chose this course was that the syllabus felt balanced between theory and practical understanding..but the only drawback is that sometimes it felt a bit more theory based rather than practical exposure , the exam pattern is consistent mid-sem internals and end-sem finals twice a year. Internals are usually manageable, but end-semester exams depend a lot on the teacher marking style.

Course curriculum is as per Delhi University's official curriculum, so it's pretty good. But its very theoretical as well so if I would suggest an improvement it would be this to make the curriculum more real and practical life based rather than rote learning.

Students of 3rd year are eligible for the same. Mckinsey, BCG, Bain, Blackrock, Meesho etc being the most prestigious recruiters. Highest package varies, but it went around 36 L last year. Avg being around 8 L. I would say most students who apply for placements get placed, however only a few get placed in the top companies. I personally wish to pursue an MBA.
