Turn your Passion into Profession with SNU

To be eligibile for this course, the student needs to complete BA in English and secure at least 55%. The application form is found on the SNU website. There is no fixed application date. The student can access the form at all time. The students can also call the admission department or visit the campus directly to know everything about the admission procedure. The admission process is very smooth and efficient, with very polite and helpful academic counsellors who are always there to guide you through it.

I always had a flair for writing and wanted to enhance this creative side. I figured that pursuing Masters in English from such a reputed University will definitely help me get a good placement to turn my passion into profession. The faculty student ratio is 1:10 The supportive, hard-working and experienced professors here are a boon to its students. They give their 100% while teaching us and ensures that we understand each and every topic. The teacher-student bond is really very strong here, and we are never afraid to appoach them with our doubts and queries. Exams are held semester-wise. Plus, there are many internal exams, assignments and class-tests which are conducted every month to access student's progress. The difficulty level of exams are not too high. A student who had attended the lectures regularly and had studied well, can easily attain good marks.

Many companies also offer internship opportunities to the students. It helps us gain some work experience and learn many things about working in an office environment. The internship period can be anything between 3 to 6 months. A few companies offer upto 1 year. The stipend offered ranges between 15K-25K per month. Some companies offer even more. For my course, different companies offer Content Writing internships with a stipend of 20K per month.

The placement opportunity is really high in this University. Students are offered internship as well as job opportunities from their final semesters. More than 200 reputed companies (Amazon, TCS, Deloitte, Informatica, Intel, Great Learning, HP, HCL, McAfee etc) visit every year to conduct interviews and offer placement. Very recently, the Highest Salary that was offered was 32 LPA and the Average Salary offered stays between 5-6 LPA. More than 95% of the students get placed every year and many students get more than 2 job offers too. After this, I plan to earn a job as a Content Writer in a good company just like some of my seniors did with campus placement.

The course fees is around 1 lakh, which is quite reasonable given the faculties, facilities and amminities that comes with it. Still, the University allows the students to opt for Scholarships as well as Student's Credit Card. Scholarship is based on the student's marks as well as there is special scholarship opportunity for students from sports or performing arts background. Also, the students start getting internship opportunities and job offers from their last semester itself. The stipend they receive is enough to cover at least a part of their course fees.

The beautiful campus offers ample opportunities to the students to expand their horizon by participating in different cultural events and sports activities. It has a cultural club that supports activities like music, dance, drama, photography, etc. The campus also has opportunities to play sports like Basketball, Cricket and Badminton. Different sports tournaments are also organised by the University from time to time. The University conduct their annual fest in February to honour the birth month of Sister Nivedita. We also have our own community radio and SNU Press. The SNU Post is run by the students of SNU. The library has almost every book as required by the students and is spacious enough for us to sit and study. It also allows us to borrow books, magazines and journals. We just need a library card to avail the facilities. The classrooms have all the necessary aminities and are very clean, comfortable and spacious. We enjoy our time a lot here.
