Remarks
I applied through the official du website and waited for the second cut off. It was 90.25 for history honours and it's calculated as a percentage of 3 core subjects. There was a deduction of 2.5 percent if history is not one of the core subjects, however now, there is no such deduction. The admission process was quite smooth, 3 days were dedicated for admission through the second cutoff, I reported on 2nd day, they checked my documents, found me eligible and within 24hrs of filling the Admission form, I got a link to pay the fees for the semester and it's done. I found the process 100 per cent satisfactory.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum covered all the aspects of history, India and the world. The college provides all the choices mentioned in the syllabus and also has one of the best faculties at DU. All the teachers are well-renowned scholars and experts in their field. Internals were conducted on regular basis and contributed to 25 per cent of final scores, attendance contributed 5 per cent. Exams were easy to pass, however scoring a good CGPA, demands regular studying throughout the semester. College organized many field trips and seminars as well, overall I am very much satisfied with academics.
Fees and Financial Aid
This course is extremely economical. Costs about 10000 a year, including all the charges, be it examination fees or anything. College provides scholarships to eligible students and that even includes 100 per cent free education as well.
Campus Life
Like all colleges of DU, ARSD, too have a huge campus, that includes an auditorium, a really large ground, and sports facilities were also good. Annual fest was conducted in April, and the crowd gathered was phenomenal as performing artists are quite popular, in my time, it was Sukh-e. College has many societies for different activities like dramatic society, called Rangayan, debating society, NSS, NCC etc. Wifi worked well, classes are good, but not air conditioned. Sanitation is best. However, student politics is very much prevalent in college.
