Entrance Preview

Admission based on 12th board result. I had a flair for maths but did not want pure maths so statistics was the natural choice.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

A little hectic with practicals thrice a week and more demanding than usual courses. 2 maths papers in first year and continued usage of mathematical tools made it very technical. Statistical software SPSS and Language C was also taken.

Internships Opportunities

Generalist companies came for hiring and nothing specific was offered to statistics graduates. Common placements were disappointing. Only few students with actuarial background were finally offered. Max package was for around 5 lac pa.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placement opportunities solely depended on personal achievements irrespective of course. American express offered a asic package of 3 lac for generalist posts.

College Events

3

College cultural fest was held in one of my 3 years course time. Other activities were centered around clubs. NSS was actively involved in various drives.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is Delhi University college with meagre fees and almost no additional expenses. One year consting max 10k including examination fee. Other expenses for tests and labs were also minimal.

Fees and Financial Aid

College gave scholarships to the top 3 scorers of every year for every course. The prize amount ranging from 2-5 k.

Campus Life

3.5

Gender ratio was decent, notorious crowd in some courses led to bad name of college in general. Sports and other facilities were good. Library was huge and well resourced.

Exam Structure

Very hectic examinations became of 3-4 practical classes every week lasting around 3 hours. Days were hectic, only solace coming by year.

Faculty

4

Faculty was good in general. Though few teachers could have invested more time. They were a little hesitant in giving good internal examination marks.

Placement Experience:

Placements usually start after the second semester. A variety of companies like Byjus, Namo India, Urban Calp, ICICI, DE Shaw, Oberoi groups, ABP news, Thomas Reuters, Microsoft, etc. visit the campus every year. More than 200 offers for jobs are made every year and a lot more for internships. Packages for jobs offered vary from 2,00,000-12,00,000 rupees. The campus placement cell informs the students of the jobs offered and the packages. About 10 students out of 50 take up the placement rest from the chemistry honours course goes for higher studies for the preparation of civil services.

College overall management is very good, helpful and supportive. All queries and concern are addressed on priority basis. All announcement and activities communicated timely. College staffs, professors and management are really very helpful and supportive. My experience was very good however i would request admin to expand and communicate their sports level program so that maximum students can participate, grow and their hidden talent can come out by these opportunities.

Remarks:

The college management surprisingly, truth be told, is very quick in their work. You would normally expect things to take their usual bureaucratic/government time to work but it really doesn't here. Apart from the minor hiccups one can get when one is made to run between departments to get some stuff sorted, it is overall really good. The 'running here and there' too in my opinion is important as it prepares us for the outside world. The world isn't all good and with rainbows and unicorns flying around. A whole lot of people exist and we need to learn to cooperate, tackle, take things in our stride and learn to just let minor things go. College prepares you for that.
