Remarks

The admission process was very smooth. There were no major issues in the admission process. There were different cutoffs for each reserved category like st, sc,obc, ews and girls. The cutoff varies each year. The counselling process starts after the declaration of the results only.

Course Curriculum Overview

I was getting this branch at this rank. I wanted computer science but the cutoff was very high this year. The faculty:student ratio is good. The faculty is well experienced and qualified too. The mid-term exams were held after 2 months and end term was after 3 months.

Class Size: 116Course Fees: INR 220000 per year

Internships Opportunities

The seniors are getting internship opportunities from top companies like Amazon. They are paying 1 lakh per month and if they work well, they are hired for full time. The core companies also visit like TATA Steel which give internship opportunities to many students.

Placement Experience

The placement scenario has changed exponentially. People are getting offers from amazon, Atlassian, Qualcomm, etc on campus. The placement percentage is also increased. The average package of a CS student is around 15 Lakh.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure is very high as compared to other NITs. The institute fee is very high. There are benefits for the poor students like they will get full remission in their tuition fees if their family income is less 1 lakh and 2/3rd remission if their family income lies between 1 lakh-5lakh.

Campus Life

I have not gone to college yet. I have done my classes online to date. But by watching campus videos on youtube one can imagine that it is great. The campus area is spread around 400 acres. The sports facilities are also good. And there are numerous clubs run by the students of NIT JSR.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel facilities are great. New buildings have been made on the campus. The first year students have to share their room among two. From second-year students get their separate rooms. The mess facility is also good.

Hostel Fee: INR 30000 per year

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
