NIT Jamshedpur - The pride of nation

The admission process to this college is through one of the most esteemed examinations of India that is through JEE Mains. JEE Mains was conducted four 4 times during the session of 2021. The best of the 4 percentile was used to calculate the rank of a student. And further admission to different nit's were done through the Josaa counselling process. The eligibility of the exam is you need to be of maths background and must have passed your 12th with PCM. The application form, dates and all are synced with JEE Mains only. One doesn't need to do anything extra for the admission, just need to follow the josaa guidelines. Remember it's a government college and not an autonomous one that you need to look for separate dates and schedules for admission into this college. Yes, all the reservation that is being provided by GOI is also applicable here. I being a general male used Gen EWS reservation, however, reservations for OBC, SC, ST and supernumerary seats are also present. No improvement is required.

I basically chose this course am interested in industries. I always had a passion for the big machines and aura that industries have, Adding this, the location benefit of NIT Jamshedpur also was a reason to choose this course since the very big TATA group is located in the mids of Jamshedpur and it has been seen during the years that TATA group has given the max employment to nit jsr students with the maximum package also. The faculty to student review is also quite a goog being a professor among 20 students. The qualification of all the professors is top notch all having the doctorate degree and experts in their fields. They have all been PhD degree holders and have a lot of experience. There are two term exams in a semester, one being mid sem and the other being end sem. Questions are good and a good preparation is required to pass through the papers.

Summer internships provide opportunities for students to gain experience in their discipline, At NIT Jamshedpur, internships are given due importance and have been included as a part of the curriculum for pre final year students. Every BTech students need to go through industrial training as approved by the department. The training period varies from 6 to 8 weeks. Two credits are also rewarded for this essential requirement of the BTech programme. The institute is strategically located with the unique advantage of being surrounded by giant and medium scale industries like TATA Steel, Telco, Indian steel wire products, Tata tubes, Templet company, TATA Timken , ISWP, Adhunik, Usha Martin etc. Again there are a lot of companies that give internships. Each and every big company give internship, however, the major one are the TATA group.

The placements of Nit Jamshedpur is quite good. It comes in the top 10 nits in terms of placements and internships. The students from the 4th year can sit for placements while the students from the 2nd year can sit for an internship. There are a lot of companies visiting the campus. All the top companies visit the campus like Microsoft, Amazon, Tata. You can get all information regarding companies on the college website since it's not possible to write the names of so many companies here. The highest package offered to a PIE student was 15 LPA. Ove 80 to 85 percent students gets placed. Others have plans for furthur studies. My plans also lie to join an IT company after getting the degree.

The fee structure of my course is 116000 for one semester. Since the college is under the central government, no hike has been seen. And there are financial aids for the needy ones. One whose family income is less than 1 lac per annum, the student complete tuition fee gets reduced to nill and the ones having their family income between 1 to 5 lac, their 2/3 of tuition money gets reduced. There is various scholarship run by government. One being fee consession , E Kalyan etc. One can even apply for students loan via the NIT student program where the students get education loans at very low rates. Since I am the 1st year student, I havent got the job. Students in 4th year get campus placements.

Life at the campus is pretty chill considering the fact that our college has been built in a huge area. There are a number of societies to take part in. In a few words, the college provides everything a child has an eye on. There are basically two fests in nit Jamshedpur. Culfest is the cultural fest of nit Jamshedpur and Urjaa is the sports fest of nit Jamshedpur. One of the biggest fests of Jharkhand is held in nit jamshedpur where students from all across the nation come and win prizes. The well known celebrities are invited every year in culfest , making it phenomenal. I guess one would never feel the shortage of books in the library, it's just lit, well maintained and over 10000 books with high speed internet facilities. A lot of sports is organized in college be it cricket, football, basketball. volleyball, Athletics etc. Every year Urjaa is being held which is a sports fest of nit Jamshedpur.

The hostel facilities are good. For the first year students, they are provided with double sharing rooms but from the very next year that is from 2nd year onwards, they are being provided with single room facilities with balcony. The mess foods are good and hygienic. They take proper care of the interest of north as well as south Indian students. The taste of foods is good. Non veg is also provided twice a week while the sweets are a part of meal daily. The hostel facility is included in the total fee taken semester wise.
