NIT Jamshedpur Review

NIT Jamshedpur is ranked among the top 100 best engineering colleges in India. My admission to the college was through JOSAA counselling. B.Tech is the flagship course of NIT Jamshedpur and the college is a very good option after IITs. I was able to secure my seat for the college in JOSAA counselling and I froze the seat as I felt that NIT Jamshedpur is a very good option for me as per my JEE rank and I was getting the seat in the course that I wanted to opt for.

After getting into the college realised that I am in a good college as the curriculum of the college is full of lots of assignments and the curriculum was recently updated to match the latest industrial norms and international guidelines. The faculty of the college was also very good they were not one of PhD level but they have really very good industrial experience. The faculty was quite eager to share their experience with us which was very helpful to us. The faculty also guides us during our assignments.

The college has a very good internship program and we are informed about the internship after completing the three years of our program. The college placement cell is the one that is responsible for our internship program. They help us to choose a good company for the internship. The average stipend for an internship was 35k.

The college follows one of the best placements standards in the business. The college has a record of 90-95% of placement. The highest package for the batch was around 45 LPA and the average salary package was around 12 LPA. The college provides a very good return on investment. The college placement committee is professional and they are aware of our interest so the companies are also accordingly.

The college has a number of scholarships and financial assistance programs for Sc/ST/PWD. Scholarship on a merit basis is also available. There are a number of scholarship schemes like Scholarship & Financial Aid by Welfare Department, Govt. of Jharkhand, Foundation for Academic excellence and access, National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation, NTPC scholarship for engineering, Scholarship of ONGC limited, Dehradun, O.P. The college campus life is good. The seniors are very cooperative. The administrative staff is very professional. The college organises a number of events like sports competitions among the different departments of the college, debate competitions and many more. The college library is the house of many international and national bestseller authors' books from around the world. The college infrastructure is very well maintained.

The hostel has very good facilities. The hostel rooms are big and properly ventilated. The hostel management properly takes care of hygiene and is very serious about it. The hostel wardens and the staff is very professional and they know how to tackle any kind of situation. The hostel mess food quality is also very good and the menu is very vast and properly balanced. The hostel has 24x7 water and power supply.
