NIT Silchar Review

NIT are best known for their CSE program and NIT Silchar also does not disappoints. NIT Silcharwas one of the best decisions of my life based on my personal experience. The college has good placements, the faculty is good and the curriculum is up to date and good. After clearing my GATE exam I was able to meet the cutoff criteria of the college after submitting the admission form online I was called for the PI round and I was able to clear all the rounds properly and my documents were also properly verified.

The curriculum of the college is properly following the latest industrial guideline and norms. The curriculum helps us to understand the proper meaning of the CSE program awe are given proper knowledge about computer technology and the importance of coding from beginner to advance level.

The internship is compulsory and we have to complete 9 weeks of the internship program after completing the first year of our program. We have to register our names with the placement committee of the college to take part in the internship program. The average stipend for the internship program is approx 40k.

The college placement is as per the industrial standards and norms. The college has a very good record of 100% placement. The college placement cell plays a major role in the placement process as the cell is fully responsible for our packages and as well our performance in the placement rounds as they fully guide and train us for the placements rounds. The highest package for our batch was around 25 LPA and the average package was approx 12 LPA.

The college provides scholarships through a variety of schemes. The college has various scholarship schemes like Swami Dayanand Education Foundation Scholarship, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Chinese Government Scholarship, NIT Silchar Research Fellowships, Scholarship for ST Students, Merit Cum Means Scholarships. The college campus is good and the infrastructure is well maintained. The plus point of the campus is it is culturally diverse. ASME, MES, TWARAN, etc are the clubs that we can be part of. The college library is the house of many international bestsellers authors and international research journals that are very helpful for us during our assignments. The college labs are modern and very good for research activities.

The hostel infrastructure is well maintained. The hostel rooms are very clean and the bathrooms are also properly cleaned. The hostel wardens and staff work very hard to maintain the decorum of the hostel. The hostel mess food is good and the menu is very basic but vast. 24 hours of water and power supply is available. There is a LAN facility in every room and we don't have any certain limitation on the network usage. The hostel has all the basics and modern facilities available for us according to our comfort level.

The faculty is not only professional but also helps us to understand the concepts very well. The faculty of the college is of Ph.D. level with great research work experience from the top universities of India. The faculty is the master of their respective subjects.
