Remarks

The department management study in nit Silchar is exceptional from the infrastructure it offers specifically for this department. This institute was on my list of favored colleges when I was deciding how to prioritize college choices. At the time of our admission, I submitted my application form through mentioned online (which was provided by the institute) and also paid application fees in the online mode. In the first step of the application process, they examined our application based on our academic performance and CAT/MAT/CMAT score. I did secure a good score of 88% in the CAT exam which helped me to secure a good rank at the time of admission. In the next two-step, they conducted the Personal Interview and Group discussion round.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

We had a four-semester program, and our mandatory summer internship took place between the second and third semesters. Though we have to take some special elective papers we read some core subjects also. The core subjects were based on the core concepts of finance, marketing, quants, economics HRM, etc. I read subjects such as Managerial Economics, Marketing Management, Quantitative Techniques, etc. My favorite paper among my elective papers was Derivative and Risk management, Security, and risk management. Case studies, workshops, seminars, group discussions, industrial visits, live projects were part of our MBA journey.

Placement Experience

3.5

Based on the information I have, I would assume that the placement percentage was around 70%. Our placement cell organized a streamlined process for our placement procedure. Some of the top recruiters for our department were ITC Ltd, Amul, HDFC mutual fund, OYO, Bandhan Bank, Marico, Axis Bank, Just dial, etc. The highest salary package offered was Rs.8.46 LPA and an average salary of Rs.3.97 LPA was offered in our final placement program.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total annual cost of the course was around Rs. 90500. The annual course fee was Rs. 31000. They charged hostel fees as part of additional fees. One of the important components of the annual fee was the library fee but it was a compulsory fee. They provided some need-based or scholarship schemes. I didn’t apply for any scholarship scheme because I was not eligible for any of the scholarship schemes. As far as I know, all scholarships are made available for the students according to the guidelines by Govt. of India.

Campus Life

4

We got 24X7 internet services on our campus. I must say that our central library was the most precious part of our campus. ‘Incandescence’ was our annual cultural fest. But our life beyond academics was not only limited to this fest but also we got exposure in a broad field. ‘Thunder march’ was our annual metal fest. We also took part in our annual tech fest ‘Tecnoesis’.

Course Curriculum Overview:

To learn about business, entrepreneurship i chose this course but it didn't helped me in any way as of now It has only helped me in enhancing my communication skills more and nothing more than that My suggestions would be the course should include some digital marketing course and some other course as well so that it becomes worthy to study there and become ready for the outside world. The units exams were conducted on after every 1 month of course duration gets complete and the final 3/4 months of duration difficulty levels were not that much hard if you have studied properly and understood the concept you will pass

Admission:

Once I applied to TU with my MAT score I was asked to come to the university for the GD and PI round. My GD round went for 15 minutes and we were given the topic about GST. In my PI round questions were asked about all my background activities besides academics, my reasons for choosing this course etc. Various mock interviews online helped me a lot while preparing for this round.

Remarks:

The MBA admissions are merit based. The basic eligibility was graduation with 50% marks and a CAT score. TU also conducted an interview and a counselling session once I was shortlisted. TU is a central university under the government, so they offer quality education for very less fees. This was the major reason for joining TU.
