Remarks

NIRF ranking of NIT Silchar is 46 among all the NITs and also the infrastructure, Academic section and hostel facilities are too good. Faculties are trying their best for the overall development of the student because there are much more things to explore beyond bookish knowledge. Department of Management Studies provides overall personality development in terms of knowledge, extracurricular activities. NIT Silchar has ASIA's largest digital library where we can explore numerous books which will enhance our knowledge.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I am a student at Department of Management Studies (DoMS). As a student of the department, I feel that faculties are trying for our all round development. We are going through classes, assignments, projects, presentations and vivas at the same time that means we have to do multi-task at the same time. we are also engaged in other curricular programs. Even in the COVID-19 situation, Online classes, examinations, vivas are going on so smoothly. yes, there are some difficulties due to network connection but it is completely manageable because faculties are so helpful. They are continuously providing us with e-books and other study materials because right now we can't access library facilities. the only cons that I feel right now is, there is a shortage of faculties which may be filled in coming days.

In the MBA department, the student can seat for placement from the third semester. there are companies like Amul, Berger, Crompton and Bandhan bank, HDFC bank and many more. The highest salary till date is provided 8lpa and average package is 4 LPA.

4

there are different types of fests related to the technical and musical area. PAARBON is one of the biggest fest held every year. There is a sports week every year. Also, there are different social groups handled by the students of NIT Silchar, for example, TnP group on Facebook and LinkedIn, NIT Silchar confessions, PAARBON NIT Silchar and many more related to culture, sports, technical aspects.

Hostel Facilities

4

INR 58000 for 2 years and it keeps updating and reviewing every year. meal quality is also good and the hygienic factor is also appreciable. and the locality of the room is also good and also the security is well enough.

Admission

55% marks or 6.0 CGPA/CPI in Bachelor Degree, minimum 50 percentile in MAT/CAT/CMAT, Group Discussion, Personal Interview

Interview Experience

4.5

Yes, I have faced GD and PI. In GD, there are 8-10 candidates discussing the same topic within a given time limit and lastly have to conclude the topic and in PI, it is basically a panel interview where 8 faculties were asking different types of questions.

Course Curriculum Overview:

To learn about business, entrepreneurship i chose this course but it didn't helped me in any way as of now It has only helped me in enhancing my communication skills more and nothing more than that My suggestions would be the course should include some digital marketing course and some other course as well so that it becomes worthy to study there and become ready for the outside world. The units exams were conducted on after every 1 month of course duration gets complete and the final 3/4 months of duration difficulty levels were not that much hard if you have studied properly and understood the concept you will pass

Once I applied to TU with my MAT score I was asked to come to the university for the GD and PI round. My GD round went for 15 minutes and we were given the topic about GST. In my PI round questions were asked about all my background activities besides academics, my reasons for choosing this course etc. Various mock interviews online helped me a lot while preparing for this round.

Remarks:

The MBA admissions are merit based. The basic eligibility was graduation with 50% marks and a CAT score. TU also conducted an interview and a counselling session once I was shortlisted. TU is a central university under the government, so they offer quality education for very less fees. This was the major reason for joining TU.
