Remarks

The mode of entry for me was josaa/csab counselling. But you can also join through North East quota or CSAB NEUT if you are eligible. Every detail regarding admission is provided by josaa. Like all other university TU also has seats for reserved categories. I joined through general EWS quota. If you are going through josaa/csab you need to pay a seat acceptance fee and also partial payment. However if there is any extra amount paid it get adjusted later.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The faculty at Tezpur university is really good and helpful but also strict. Attending every class and maintaining a minimum of 75% marks is important. The faculty student ratio for first year students is 1:60. Teachers are highly qualified all of them are PhD in their respective subjects with an average teaching experience of 6 years. The method of teaching is impressive. During covid, the exams are conducted online however it is well protracted.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Internships are provided to students by companies as well as IITs. Training and placement cell is there at TU to bring internship opportunities. Not much more idea but I know most of the students apply by themselves in some companies from various websites like Internshala.

Placement Experience

3.5

Campus placement is provided to students. However, due to remote location, most of the unicorns do not visit the campus. The highest package as per my knowledge is 9 lakh per annum while the average is 3.5 lakh per annum. Most of the students prepare for further study so they do not opt for placement. I don't have an idea of off campus placement. I have planned to accelerate my startup after graduation.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is very low in comparison to private colleges and NITs however it is higher as compared to most of GFTIs. The scholarship is provided to meritorious students as well as there are other modes for a scholarship. However, I have not applied to any yet.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is very good as our university has all the required facilities like a cricket ground, Gym, swimming pool, badminton court and many more exciting places for students interested in sports. The library has all the required books for engineering, humanities, management and science. IEEE, Coding club, photography club, astronomy club are some of the important clubs in our college.

Hostel Facilities

5

All the students are provided with a hostel facility. The meal is good but maybe not ok for students from other parts of India. The registration process for a hostel is done through the admission form only the hostel is allotted by the council according to branch.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute. The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.
