Remarks

Students having passed 10+2 or equivalent examinations are eligible to pursue BTech courses from UIET Chandigarh You have to appear in specific counseling for the college which is organized by JAC Chandigarh and you will get all the required information like application form, application fees, and application dates on the official website of JAC Chandigarh which is http://chdenggadmissions.nic.in I personally haven't availed any reservation benefits but there are plenty, you can check for the same on the previously mentioned website The admission process is quite smooth, just go to the mentioned website and you will get all the relevant information.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Information Technology is an interesting field plus everyone nowadays is going towards IT sector only because of more job opportunities but still, I would suggest go for the branch in which you are personally interested or else go for CS / IT for more job opportunities ofcourse. Most of the teachers are well qualified having PhD degrees (but again dont just look for the degree if a teacher is interested in teaching you can study with him) plus most of the teachers were interested to teach their respective subjects which were nice to see. Exams were okayish i would say you wont face any difficulty if you have studied having said that the scheduling of exams could be done better plus information regarding the same could be sent earlier.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

I am not very much aware of internship experiences given by established companies but seniors tell us that there are a lot of opportunities but setting it aside a decent no of aluminizes gives you internships for a few weeks for some basic pay so you can do that if you have the skills.

Placement Experience

3

You can appear for placements starting from 7th semester onwards plus you can apply yourself as well to various off-campus opportunities. The companies which visit are decent i would say including the likes of Amazon, Deloitte, Hero came as well few years ago for mechanical engineers. Around 50-60 decent companies visit the college for placement with around 300 job offers with the highest package around 41 lpa which was off campus probably but Amazon could give upto 25-30 lpa i guess, The average package would be around 7 lpa i guess but its gonna improve year by year. If you are in CSE or IT you are most chilled with around 80% placements, in ECE as well there are decent placements but after that you have to study really well to get placed But you can always do a lot of things after getting your degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure is less than the NITs and IITs, you will be asked to pay around 1 lakh for the tuition fee for 2 semesters thats is one year (hostel fee being 10-20k, though getting hostel is not very easy but you can stay in PGs nearby). You can get the various scholarships provided by your respective state governments plus financial scholarship is also provided by the university plus you will be getting INTERNSHIP opportunities by the aluminis only for which you can apply if you have the skills

Campus Life

3.5

In short Campus life will be awesome being just in front of PU gives us a huge edge we just have to cross a road and can enjoy facilities provided by PU which are obviously top-notch. You can take part in fests organized by the college as well as fests of nearby colleges so you won't miss out on that fun. We can go to the library of PU as I said earlier which is quite decent with a lot of stuff. Classrooms are decent I would say plus it doesn't matter much all that matters is people in that classroom. If you love sports and extracurricular activities don't even think twice, you can play in the university team let alone a college team how awesome is that. At last, we have a lot of clubs so you would enjoy your time other than studies for sure.

Placement Experience:

Since the first batch of VLSI is yet to be placed I would take example of ECE for reference. Out of 110 students which sat for placements , 91 got placed , median of 13 lakh with avergae of 16 lakh and 61 lakh highest on campus. These are of 24-25 and this year placements are better as even apple visited us after an hiatus of 3 years. In core electronics , Samsung Rnd , TATA electronics , Cadence , Micron etc visited for tech , UKG , PhonePay , Oracle , Accenture etc vist in consulting and finance , Mckinsey , JP Morgan , GoldmanSachs , AmericanExpress visit. After my btech I plan to do a job.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course plan around 7 out of 10 in terms of relevance and depth. I chose this course mainly because it includes core tech subj like DSA, DBMS, OS, AI and cloud, which are useful for jobs in tech field. The presence of lab work and proj based learning also influenced my choice. The curriculum gives a fair base in theory and basic prac skills. It helps in campus place prep and also builds base for higher study like MTech or MS. But real world skill still depends a lot on self study, online course and side proj. Some topics feel updated, but a few subj are still too theory heavy and not linked to real case use. Exams are held twice as mid test and once as end term in each sem. There are also quiz, viva and lab eval. The level is moderate. If you attend class and revise notes, it is manageable. For improve, more live proj, hack event, ind visit and case study should be added. Teach method should shift more to code demo and less slide read
