I am a student of Computer Science And Engineering at Kalyani Government Engineering College. There are five departments for B.Tech - 1. Computer Science And Engineering 2. Information Technology 3. Electronics And Communications Engineering 4. Electrical Engineering 5. Mechanical Engineering I am very much pleased to be a part of a wonderful college.

Course Curriculum Overview

I have selected CSE because I was interested in computer. And when I got the chance in KGEC I was really glad. The faculty members are very much helpful. The help us when needs. The teachers are so good at teaching and their politeness is good. Every 6 months exam occurs.

Class Size: 67Course Fees: INR 12000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Many companies visits KGEC placement such TCS ,ITC, WIPRO and so on. The packages are also very good. The stipend what the interns get is attractive about 40k/month. Students can apply for internship from 2nd year.

Placement Experience

The placement of KGEC is average. Many renowned company visits in the campus. Many students get good placement. The highest package was about 23 LPA . This year about 230 students got placements. And they are happy with it.

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost of study or fees structure is not so much. It is about 12000/year for CSE students. You can get an attractive scholarship there. Every student who is eligible can apply for any scholarship on the current year.

Campus Life

KGEC is one of the best colleges. The campus is so good. There are many attractive clubs and the seniors-juniors relationship is also good. They help us and they teach us also. There are dance club, singing club, Robotics club, E-cell, Photography and so on.

Hostel Facilities

The Hostel is quite good. The room is also comfortable. They provide us 1 Almirah and 1 table and 1 bed. The meal is delicious too. There do not have any objection to the hostel. I think it will cost more to get any mess or PG.

Reality of Jis college of engineering

Placement Experience:

The students get eligible at 3rd year 6th sem. Though before that you can do internship or freelancing which will increase the weight of your profile. The percentage of student getting placement is around 60-70% and the average package is around 4-5lakhs per annum. The highest package got by a student previous year was around ?10lakhs per annum.

Remarks:

Provide decent jobs to most students. Faculties are helpful and teach well. You can issue 3 books at a time from the library once your library card is made. Classes are held to enhance your communication skills. A lot of items in the canteen and cafeteria. No ragging. There is no ground to play. Very strict rules, has a lot of restrictions. Most students call it a jail, cause you cannot bunk classes. But believe me, it will shape you into a good human being and you will also get placed if you put your effort. Best of luck for your college life.

Very unique B.Tech Stream after 12th

Remarks:

Passing marks is 50%. That is quite tough and there are no negative points. The stream is bio based stream though it is an engineering course. The faculties are good, the placement is near about 100% in colleges.

Remarks:

Positive: provides an atmosphere for free thinking to pursue one's dream and subject. One can study in one stream and study other non-related subjects to stream without any hassle. The academic pressure is minimal. Negatives: needs more outreach for a university of this standard.

KGEC REVIEW

I gave West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination in 2024. I scored a decent rank but due to high cut off of this year I didn't get good branch in Jadavpur University.
