Remarks

I applied for B.Sc Hons Computer science in PGDAV College DU. You can easily take admission in this college if you get 80% or above. When your % lies under any cutoff. Yoi have to visit college for document verification. You have to submit your fees one time in a year. You have to carry all your documents at the time of admission otherwise there is a chance in cancel of admission due to lack of documents. There is no entrance exam as I applied for merit based admission. My admission has been done under 5th cut off. Your best four subjects are included during admission. Mathematics is compulsory to take admission in B.Sc Hons Computer science, if you don't have maths then there is a deduction in best four percentages.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I always interested in technology world. How it works, I am very keen about this. So I took admission in B.Sc Hons Computer science. Overall Faculty is good, they have wide knowledge of their own subjects. In class, 60-70 are there and we have 4-5 subjects each semester. They have professor and guest faculty too, according to the subject need. We have 2 labs with enough PCs, each and every students have work on single PC. Qualification of faculty, all are professors except guest faculty they hired. Their way of teaching is really appreciated. We have internal test on regular basis and assignment were given. Level of internal/semester wise exam is medium to difficult. You have to study to clear those exams. Otherwise you will fail. Practical based classes are also there. And practicals are done at the time of exams.

Students are eligible for campus placement in 3rd semester or in 2nd year. But most companies preferred to hire or select the students from 3rd year because they can join early. There are TCS, Deloitte, wipro, Justdial, and many more. I have no idea of highest package as I don't apply for any placements. Most of the students get selected if you good knowledge of coding. If I talk in percentage basis then 70%-80% students get selected. In my batch, whose apply, almost all selected. One of my friend get selected in Wipro. I am currently pursuing M.Sc Hons in Computer science from Punjab University, chandigarh.

Fees and Financial Aid

According to DU colleges, I really found my course fee somewhat expensive, it's 42000 per year and graduation is of 3 years. Examination fees is also included in this. There is National Scholarship portal, if you want scholarship, you can apply on website and submit your required documents in College. It's must to submit your documents on college otherwise you will not get scholarship. If you unavailable to afford the fees, you can talk with principal and teachers. You can get concession. There is no campus job.

Campus Life

4

I am not interested in joining any society and doing any fest. Annual fest conduct once in a year and tech fest conduct on regular basis. There is a library with thousands of books. You found wide range of book, but it's not possible for every student to get one book respectively. There is a cricket and volleyball ground in college campus and you love the space. NCC and NSS are their, if you want to join. Election happened, if you are interested you can be a part of parties.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is too good. As my course is life sciences so instead of learning about only one core subject like in botany hons and zoology hons course, we get chance to learn about zoology, botany and chemistry simultaneously. That Also unlock a large no. of opportunities for my future. Acc to me the ratio of practical lab and theory classes should be increased like we only get 1 lab for one core subjects in a week so I think this no. Should be increased so that we can get more practical knowledge. The difficulty level of exams are too much High like it seems we're hons course students that should be decreased.

Campus placements are for commerce background mostly, usually in 3rd year you might see some placements. I don't know exactly about thr company who visited because I wasn't enrolled in that particular course. Campus placements percentage is very low to be honest . 10-20% mostly. I'll pursue masters.
