Remarks

I am studying currently in nit jamshedpur and my Brach is metallurgy and mechanical engineering.I belong to obc category.You have to give her mains exam for applying in all nits . Minimum marks depends on that year cutoff.

Course Curriculum Overview

After ece branch, metallurgy and mechanical placement are very high in number in nit jamshedpur as there are many Tata company.Faculty are very highly qualified here and there way of teaching amazed me.Exams are conducted very often and mid-sem end-sem are also there.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 140000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Company starts visiting college for internship in the summer vacation of third year.They conduct different rounds and select some students from each Branch and give them pre placement offer.Appox 1000 dollars is the stipend.You have to show your resume and all projects you made in the whole 4 year.

Placement Experience

Placement of college is nice ,approx 86-95 students are placed every year from all branches.Comapny visit in the beginning of 8th semester for placements.Excluding Microsoft approx all company visit here.Previous year highest package was of 70 lakhs of a student in mechanical Branch.I want to pursue mba after btech degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fees of this college is approx 5.5 lakhs.There are many scholarship available for obc,sc and st candidate.If you belong to these category and your annual income is below 1 lakhs,5 lakhs you will get 100% and 67% scholarship respectively.

Campus Life

College conduct culfest as well as ojass per year.They bring celebrities in the college whis is fabulous.There are all books available in the library you can borrow any books.Sports facilities are also quite good all sports are here.Many social group like meme club, photography club ,etc are there for students.It gives really great exposure

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
