College Review

The counselling was based on Wbjee score and Jee main score, depending on which one we choose.I had chosen wbjee score and applied for online counselling. I had to submit a domicile certificate for being a resident of West Bengal. The results of counselling were announced on the stipulated day, there were 3 rounds in all and I had secured a seat in the first round itself.

I chose CSE as it is in high demand in the industry. We have 63 students in class and one teacher for each theory subject.We have teachers and lab assistants for practical classes. The faculty is highly qualified and most of them teach very well. Doubts are clarified.We have two internal exams every semester with moderate difficulty levels. We also have many quizzes.

I got an internship opportunity with an AI-based learning platform,Snaplearn, as an academic doubt solver, with a decent stipend based on a number of doubts solved. Other profiles are also available for internships.

From 6th semester, students become eligible for placements. Companies like TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Hitachi, Accenture and many other companies have visited the college. The highest package offered recently is Rs.7.2 lakhs and the average package is Rs. 4 lakhs. Above 90 percent of students from CSE get placed. I plan to go for MBA after getting a degree.

Some students get TFW scholarship depending on their performance in JEE or WBJEE which waives their tuition fee and helps them financially.The fees hike is not too high. Tuition fees is taken at the beginning of the semesters and training fee is additionally taken before 2nd,4th and 6th semesters.

The Annual fest is Arcadia which is generally conducted in January. A variety of books are found in the library. The classrooms are well lit, airy, and spacious. Sports and extracurricular activities are highly encouraged. Football, basketball, and other games are played. Extra-curricular activities like writing, photography, music, dance, drama are encouraged through respective clubs. IEI Students Chapter organizes tech fests and publishes the college magazine, Ingenium. Abohoman is the team for arts and related activities.
