The National Institute of Engineering is one of the best colleges in Karnataka

I applied to many colleges in Bangalore. But I thought studying in Mysore will be more peaceful and The National Institute of Engineering is one of the top 3 colleges in Mysore. Admission criteria for B.E Computer Science: KCET cutoff rank for general merit was 1,000-1,500 in the first round. As my rank was 7,504 I got a seat in the second round.

My dream was to become a software engineer and the course I've selected is Computer Science. The faculty is very good. We have around 35 lecturers in the CSE department and we'll be taught by every lecturer within the completion of the course. The faculty is highly qualified professionals. Term exams are very well conducted and as we're supposed to work hard on our own after the college lectures, I think the marks depend on our hard work.

We get a lot of messages from the companies and roles offered under internships with stipends. One of them is JP Morgan. Since I've just completed my second year of degree I've not much information about the projects.

From the third year, a student can be eligible for campus placements. A lot of core companies recruited around 97% of the students last year. Names of some companies: Amazon, Cisco, Mercedes Benz, HP, Dell, Wipro, Infosys, etc. I don't have any further plans for doing my master's. I'd rather prefer campus placement.

The tuition fee for the first year is around 65,000 if a student gets into KCET and it depends on aided and unaided courses. Comed-K fees are around 2 lakhs and fees for management seats depend on the rank.

The National Institute of Engineering is highly known for the educational clubs run by students. There will be one annual fest in the month of March. The library facility is amazing, we can also download a pdf copy of textbooks online. Since the college is very old, there's nothing much to compliment about the infrastructure. Sports students are Highly prioritized and are also taken to the National level. We also have a club for the students who are interested in cultural activities.

The hostel room facility is very good. We are provided with a wifi router, cupboard, study table, and receiving online delivery is available. The meal is good for both north and south Indians. Hostel details can be checked through www.nie.ac.in and hostel fees differs based on sharing. For 3 sharing it is 80,000/year.
