Remarks

The only reason I applied for Hindu was its name. Hindu is considered as a renowned college in DU. Faculty of the college is also nice with experienced teachers and all the qualifications. Admission cirteria for the program is that in MSc zoology 50% seats are reserved for merit based students and 50% for entrance. I gave entrance which is known as DUET MSc Zoology entrance exam. You have to score really well then only you will be able to get your first preference which in my case was Hindu. The councelling day for me was really pathetic. Heavy rain with big queues. It took a lot for time for documentation.

Course Curriculum Overview

I did my graduation in zoology and wanted to go for masters in zoology that's why I chose this course. The faculty:student ratio is not much good. 15 faculty members and 108 students. Big classrooms are there with mics, speakers, and ACs. The exam is conducted semester wise and they are tough to pass. As masters level is not quite but very difficult as compared to bachelors.

Internships Opportunities

You have to apply for internship it is not available with the college. But the thing which is most important is the place to which you belong and your teachers recommendation letters. Which the faculty members of the Zoology department easily provide. There is dissertation and thesis writing conducted in this department which adds to your CV.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are fine but there is no financial assistance provided to students. Students can apply for scholarships like CSSS, inspire, and other postgraduate scholarships for which documentation is done VC office

Campus Life

Ar master's level you don't have much social life. As since 9 till 5 you are there in department. Though there are cultural activities being conducted in department like fest, freshers, international seminars. Libabry is the best at masters level where not only the department library but also Central science library can be accessed by the student. There is no book issue problem.

A Complete Learning Experience at Dept of Mathematics DU

Placement Experience:

Yes there is a placement cell here. 2nd year students eligible for campus placement company started visiting campus for placement after one month of 2nd year started . Here company came for mostly 3 roles Data analyst, Data scientist and Subject matter expert. Companies like United Airlines, United Healthcare Optum, Cognitio analytics, Courseleap, transOrg analytics etc visited campus and the package they offer depends on company standards it vary from 5 lpa to 20 lpa . Avg package is around 9 lpa and highest package is offered 20 lpa for Data science role. About 20 to 30 percent of students are getting placed mostly are chosen for higher studies like phd . My plan is definitely going to cooperate industry for data analyst role

Excellent experience but can be better with efforts of students and faculty

Placement Experience:

Placements occur in two phases first in 3rd semester for Phase 1 and then Phase 2 in 4th semester. Percentage of people placed is low but the package and companies they got is excellent. The packages offered from 7.5 LPA to as high as 26 LPA. A lot of big companies visit the campus.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Basically I choose this course because I am interested to study on environment. Again now a days the field in related to environment like disaster management, climate change etc. Facalty is available for the student and they are ready to help students any time. Ratio is correctly not known but I can say that it's good. Facalty is highly educated with PhD holder and other high qualified. Teaching method is basically online distance mode. They provides notes in pdf formate and through video classes. Offline books are provided through postal address. Study materials are easily available on the official website and different application of the official. Exams are conducted as both semester and yearly method. In my course it's semester system and it held timely. Exams are not so tough not too easy.

Beginning of a new life- Hindu College

I choose this college as it got the NIRF rank 1 in 2024. The college is very diverse in terms of courses and students. The college has a campus area of around 25 acre. I have applied for the other colleges of north campus too but Hindu College was my first priority. I got it in the first round of common seat allocation system so I didn't need to bother to choose other colleges. I have to give cuet exam so that I can take admission in Delhi University. The eligibility for my course was to study mathematics till 12th class and the student who has given maths exam in cuet and 2 other subject and 1 language exam. Then the cutoff for this course comes in various colleges. College and course are allotted on the CSAS portal of Delhi University.
