Why should I join NIT Jamshedpur?

We have qualify jee mains to get admission in nit jamshedpur. Due to covid exam happened in September and counseling happened in November. We have to submit 40000 if we get a seat of our choice. Then again we have to give 35000 and after getting admission we will have to pay 19000 to the college. The admission procedure was really easy. There were two rounds josaa and csab. Csab was done to fill the seats that remained empty after josaa round.

I have taken admission in the metallurgy department due to the industrial location of jamshedpur and so it has good placement in the core field. There are 11 faculty in my department. All the faculty are PhD holders. Some of them are very sincere and teach really good. There are two exams per semester mid sem and end sem. Mid sem has 30 marks and end sem 50 marks rest 20 marks is of internal assessment. Exams are not very tough and every student gets average marks.

Not all companies provide internship offers but some provide like tata steel, iswl, etc Some of them are paid others are non paid. On an average 130 students get internship every year. One has to ne skillfull to get internship.

In third year there are companies that give internship, some are paid and then based on students performance they offer ppo(pre placement offer). From fourth year students sit for campus placements. The placement ratio is really good of our college even for core fields. Major recruiters include tcs , Wipro, infosys, tata steel, paytm, Amazon,etc.

For a general candidate in first semester one has to pay 116000 and for rest semesters we have to pay 104000 including hostel fees. There is concession on fees for SC, ST and financially weak students.There are various scholarships for SC, ST, OBC and financially weak student like NTPC for handicapped people there is scholarship. The first three toppers of every batch of civil, electrical, metallurgy and mechanical are nominated for op jindal scholarship.

There are mainly three fests. Ojass is the technical fests, Culfest is the cultural fests and urja is the sports fest. There are other fests that happens department wise like technicia is the annual fest of metallurgy department, cognito is annual fest of mechanical and vidhan is civil department's annual fest.There are many clubs for sports like chess, badminton, cricket,etc Technical club are pcon for coding, rays,revanta, drift,daksh,Phoenix and ecoriders make cars. Non technical club includes faces for art, rooh for music, btbs for dancing,qunite for quiz, etc. There are social groups funded by government like nss and uba.
