Summer Internship at MDI

The admission process was pretty smooth. After appearing for CAT, I applied for MDI and for IIMs. I got an interview shortlist for almost all the new IIMs. There was no GD round in any of my interviews. After interviews, I received the final shortlist for MDI Gurgaon, IIM Udaipur and few other IIMs. I chose MDI Gurgaon for a better brand and a good cohort of students. Moreover, the course that I was getting was International Business, where I get to spend an year in Europe, as it is a dual degree program. So, I applied for it for an international exposure. The admission process was pretty smooth and we got ready assistance from the admission commiittee ( astudent body of teh college).

The faculty at MDI is highly qualified with an amazing mix of academicians and industry experts. We even get to learn from regular industry stalwarts through special guest lectures. The course curriculum has been designed in accordance with global standards, as it's a dual degree course and the course has been very informative and engaging. The only drawback is because of Covid, we had very little time for the 1st-trimester exams.

The internship opportunities available for the students are pretty good and is offered to teh students through the summer internship placement process, which see some of the great multinational and Indian brands visiting the campus. The stipend offered is pretty lucrative. however, PGDM_IB students need to look for internship opportunities in Europe and they receive help from the seniors and alumni.

MDI Gurgaon is known for its stunning placement results, which have been improving year-after-year (thanks to the quality of students and the hard work put in by the placement committee). There are 2 types of campus placements, viz the summer internship placements and the final placements. The companies visiting the campus for placements are some of the most desired firms in the marketing, consulting, finance, information technology, operations domain. We need to pay a total fee of INR 25,00,000 including the academic fees at both MDI and ESCP Europe and this includes the hostel and mess charges as well (which we will pay on a pro-rata basis, as and when we move to the campus). There are 2 scholarship schemes on the campus for meritorious, yet financially weaker students and are awarded to around 10 students each year.

From what we have heard from the seniors( as we haven't visited the campus), the campus life is pretty happening at MDI. There are lots of clubs and committees which keep on organising cultural, educational fests and sports meets. The library has a plethora of online and offline resources, including exposure to many research publications and data. The classroom infrastructure is at par with any other top B-school in India.
