Remarks

I had given JEE exam, in which I got 1.59 lakh rank. So, I had the option to take admission in IPU colleges. Branches like ECE, IT, and Mechanical were available for me. But as we all know, fees of IPU colleges are somewhat high. And, I was not that dedicated to do Engineering. So, I thought it would be a wastage of my parents' money to spend on a course which I'm not interested in. Meanwhile, DU cutoffs got released. As I had 91.4% in CBSE, so I thought it would be wise to apply for my field-related courses in DU. Not to forget, I'm from General Category. Till 5th cutoff, I was getting B.Sc. Mathematics Hons in many colleges as in that course, I had 93% best-4 percentage. But I wanted B.Sc. Computer Science, in which I had 91.5% best-4 percentage. It was getting hard to take that course. But, I waited and lastly, in the 6th cutoff, I got P.G.D.A.V. College. I paid the fees and then, I was ready to take my classes.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I really wanted to study Computers as I have a keen interest in them. Besides, honestly speaking, IT packages are somewhat high compared to others. So, this was another factor. Faculty: The student Ratio is quite good in my College. As there are only 50-60 students in a year. And, teachers are 4-5 for that. So, I guess these are quite good stats. Talking of the qualifications of the teachers, I just want to say they are pretty well qualified. Every teacher has a minimum Master's Degree in their related fields. And some are also Ph.D.'s. Now comes the question, how they teach. Honestly speaking, every teacher is not that good at dealing with the students. Some teachers are very helpful. They provide their free time also to the students who ask for it. But on the contrary, some are really rude. They just care about the assignments and their syllabus. Exams and practicals are held twice every year, which are quite easy to pass. Passing exams in DU is not a very difficult task

Internships Opportunities

4

There are plenty of Startup companies that visit our campus for internships. And some Big companies like Urban Company, Reliance, and Zomato also hire student interns. Roles offered in Internships are Sales and Marketing, Content Writing, Graphic Designing, Web Development and App Development.

Placement Experience

4

Generally, DU is not well known for placements. Companies usually go to North Campus for hiring. So, I had no expectations regarding the placements. But after entering the college, I got to know that placements are really good in P.G.D.A.V College. The placement cell works really hard in bringing companies to the campus. Companies like Deloitte, EY, Accenture, Airtel, Chegg, Infosys, ICICI, DE Shaw & Co, and Zomato usually hire from our campus. The average Package of P.G.D.A.V is around 4 lakhs which is quite good according to DU. And the highest package is 12 lakh. Almost 60 percent of students get placed every year and this is growing rapidly every year. For me, there are no concrete plans. I will give exams for Master and also Government Jobs. And also, I will sit in Campus Placements. Then, I will choose the best option which will be available at that time.

Fees and Financial Aid

As we all know, the fees of DU are really affordable. I think the fees of B.Sc. Computer Science is the costliest in the whole DU, which is 42,000. And the fees generally don't increase. I don't know much about scholarships. But in the times of Covid, I heard of a scholarship for those who had lost one of their parents. Besides, DU is a government university. So, there are plenty of scholarships if one searches for them. There are also plenty of Internships available on Campus. One can easily apply and can earn through stipends.

Campus Life

4.5

The annual Fest of P.G.D.A.V College is Aaghaz which is generally held in the month of December. The library is well equipped with a large number of books and Digital Book Checkers. The classrooms are well ventilated with big windows. AC's are only available in Computer Rooms some other special rooms. Otherwise, there is a fan. Sports like Cricket, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, and Badminton are available in the college. Other activities like NCC, NSS are also there. There are also plenty of Societies which are really the soul of the whole College. Music Societies, Dance Societies, Photography Societies, Tech Societies, Theatre Societies, and much more.

Other Applied Colleges

Motilal Nehru College | B.Sc. Mathematics Hons.

I was not satisfied with the course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Life science includes zoology botany and chemistry considering this combo I think the study material is quite okay in terms of topics chemistry connects school teaching with one step ahead learning . Zoology provides new insights on various topics . Botany covers deeper understanding of syllabus . So overall it's good . Hands on lab work meets the demand of the subject . Also the topics taught match with the type of questions asked in exam. Difficulty level i would say it's moderate for botany and zoology but for chemistry is quite tough. Time management is a much needed skill for examination purpose. For course curriculum i would say more focus on current situation should be laid rather than history .

I think that the course curriculum is good and well managed . The curriculum has all necessary subjects related to our course as well as all other necessary subjects like human values and basic ethics. I find our course curriculum is apt for our course . Thought their is a lag for more practical learning and skills. It will be better if they add more practical learning.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus of Electronics Hons and Electrical Engineering is same but makes it different is how we perceive it. We study the syllabus with theoretical aspects while the engineers with practical aspects. We have a chance to opt for the 4th year, which only comprises of Research. One of the optionals is Generic Elective and if you take GE from same department for all semesters, you will attain a minor degree. The Faculties and whole curriculum is great but the other optionals require improvement. The other optionals only make the Student Life hectic, that stumbles the Student's focus from Course track.
