I had applied for the Institute of Home Economics, Delhi University. I had done my graduation in Bsc Home science from this college. The admission criteria is for this course is 12th pass +50% marks any stream. And for admission process- Fill the Delhi University admission form When the cut off list come check yourself Apply for the course Go to college and fill in all the necessary details and submit the fee online.

I chose this course because I want to study about home science and this is one of the best college for home science studies in delhi. Faculty is good , there are around 250+ students who take admission in this course. Teachers are highly educated and helpful. They teaches very well. They use theoretical method od teaching as well as practical method. Semester exams are taken in may and December. They are fine not so much difficult to pass.

Class Size: 25Course Fees: INR 28000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is high for this college and course. It's around 25000. Each year fee increases of rupees 2000-2500. And there are additional expenses also like books and other things. No scholarship, financial assistance, and job on the campus for students

Campus Life

There were annual, cultural and departmental fests conducted. Annual fest is feria which is good and cultural & department fests are nice. Library is fine mostly books are available for the course need. Classrooms are in good condition. Stair like structure of classroom down to top. Sports and extra curricular activities are not so active in this college. There are plenty of societies/groups , clubs for students like drama club, dance society, music society, art society and fashion society.

The placement cell of Sri Venkateswara College is good and brings some big names like big 4 for placement The highest package was around 24+LPA and average is around 7-8 LPA for a variety of courses . Placement Experience:

The placement cell of Hansraj College is quite active. You are eligible to sit for campus placement offers from 5th semester onwards. Companies like Deloitte, capgemini arw frequent recruiters for several posts and positions. The highest offered package is somewhere around 22000 with the average being at 700000-800000. Not all students get placed on campus, however thr hands on training and learning makes you industry ready, making you eligible amd worthy to apply for off campus placement opportunities. Many students prefer not to sit for campus placements and rather opt for higher studies after graduation. I plan to do the same after getting my undergraduate degree.

Life in RAMJAS

Course Curriculum Overview:

Cource curriculum is highly relevant. It covers fundamental and advanced concepts of zoology , which was the main reason I choose this course. Subjects like human physiology, biochemistry, biomolecules, comparative anatomy of vertebrates, animal behaviour, ...etc. are highly interested and align with my interest. Practical components help in developing and understanding concepts more clearly. However, real world applications is limited. Curriculum prepare students well for further academics for PG or other competitive exams. Exam system is conducted at regular intervals with Internal assessment and semester end. Timings are appropriate . Difficulty level is moderate to high.

The fact that I have always like food for me to choose a course .so, that I can build my indepth knowledge in this subject . The course is not only about stitching and cooking but a lot more than that . It teaches us the most practical and basic part of our life . Their should be more equipment and practical equipment for the practical. There should be more industrial visit for us to learn from practical classes.The frequency and timings of exams are the same as DU .

The Institute of Home Economics- new but a legacy soon

It was not like that I wasn't getting admission in other colleges except this one but the chice that I made was majorly due to the career planning that I had done in the early stages. Everything you needaa know about your college.

I chose this college as it it ranked in the top 3 amongst the other 8 DU colleges which has this course. Also, the location i find it too convinient for me.
