Likes
- The college location is Hauz Khas which has great ambience and the crowd is also very nice.
- Hauz Khas Metro Station Gate no. 3 is just 2 mins away from the college which is a upside.
- It is a girls college which some of us prefer. Also, there are no strict rules for maintaining the so-called decorum of a college.
Dislikes
- There is no playground for sports like football or other things. there is just a basketball court which is used for all other sports.
- There is no active placement cell in this college.
- Cultural Events are not held frequently.
Course Curriculum Overview
The B.El.Ed is a very time-taking and reputed course. It is only in 8 colleges of DU. They are all girls college. The curriculum prepares you to become a facillitator rather than a traditional teacher. This course require hardwork if you really want to become a good teacher, this is it. Sometimes, it can get very hectic as the workload is too much in this course.
Fees and Financial Aid
first year - 25775 second year - 19935 third year - 18825 fourt year - 18825 The course fee is not different for SC,ST students. FREESHIP is offered every year to students who are unable to pay the fees. Any student getting scholorship/fess concession from any other source can not apply for freeship.
Campus Life
I really enjoy going here as no matter how difficult the course is but the faculty and friends i got from here are always there to help and make things easy. The college has a library which has almost all the resources a student can ask for. A dedicated "Resource Room" is there for the B.El.Ed students which has resouces specifically for them.
Admission
I chose this college as it it ranked in the top 3 amongst the other 8 DU colleges which has this course. Also, the location i find it too convinient for me. This college has very limited courses so there are decent number of children. I got confirmed admission from Gargi College also but that college has a bad reputation for things. I chose this as the faculty and pedagogical practices of this college are well praised in university.
Faculty
There are ample teachers to cater all the students. the faculty to student ratio will be around 1:50 on an average. Students are allowed to reach out to teachers anytime during college hours. The B.El.Ed faculty is very good. it has professors who have worked for abroad universities and written many researchpapers in collaboration with them. For othere courses the exams are held every semester once. but for B.El.Ed the exams are only held once in a year.
Night Life
HauzKhas is a hub for clubs and cafes. There are many places which will become your go-to spots. The infamous "Social" is also here. Forts and parks are all around. Deer Park is also a place you will fall in love with. Also you can easily find PGs nearby colleges for girls accommodation.
