Remarks

Because this college is suggested to me by my cousin sister and is considered as one of the best college for Home Science and has A grade By NAAC and also affiliated with DU. My home town is also near Delhi.

Course Curriculum Overview

The experience was really good. Since this is my last year for UG some problems have also accured due to this pandemic situation otherwise the teachers, faculties and all the lab assistants are so helpfull and concerned about all the students. The course syllabus was up to date and we were taken out for surveys, educational tours to meauseum, buildings etc.

Class Size: 21Course Fees: INR 29700 per year

Placement Experience

3.5

No job opportunity because this is just a basic course and it does not provide and job placements. You have to study further to get a proper and staible job. This course will open more and more opportunity to you that in which field or course you want to continue further and you will have n no. of lines opening up to you and you can choose wherever you want to go next.

College Events

There were fests going on every month of any department or any cultural program. Every month there has to be a fest or any other programs. It was quite fun and exciting to see every month a new celebration going on in the college. A fest named as FERIA was fixed as per DU fests culture.

Campus Life

There were two buildings with a basket ball court, foyer, a cafeteria, and parking space. The liberary was in the building and wifi was also provided by the college. A sports room was also there for indoor games and labs were also there well maintained and clean with lab assistants. The equipments in the lab were properly working all the times.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel infrastructure was really very bad. I was there for 6 months and the rooms were really old and furniture was also not proper. The worst part was the hygiene and the maintenance of toilets and bathrooms. If you have to bath you have to go to another floor. Basically the old college building of IHE was used as hostel. I would like to suggest you to opt for a pg rather than the hostel

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Good Exposure in Event Management Field

Placement Experience:

Placements at my college are average, students become eligible from around the 5th semester. A few companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in entry level positions. The average package is moderate, while higher package are limited. Around 70 to 80% of students get placed. I plan to focus on skill development and explore better opportunities after completing my degree.

I choose B.A from DU SOL because the course curruculmis exactly the same as regular DU colleges which gives degree strong crediblity for UPSC goverment jobs and further studies like M.A the syllabus is coprehensive and covers core subjects like histyory, poltical science and english litreature in detail

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is MSC operations research, which is a very vast and deep course. It goes deep into understanding business operations and providing the businesses with best quality steps. There were real life projects which have helped me alot in understanding difficult topics. If there could be more projects it would have been more helpful for studies. The exams level is moderate to difficult, have to study hard to perform good in tests/exams.

Underrated College- An honest opinion

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

Campus placements are must here as we may not have higher degrees like other engineering college students. But we are younger and more enthusiastic and also we have the skillsets which has been taught to us at our college. A salary of 30 to 40 thousand is offered to us at the initial placements from our college.

The Institute of Home Economics- new but a legacy soon

It was not like that I wasn't getting admission in other colleges except this one but the chice that I made was majorly due to the career planning that I had done in the early stages. I chose this college because of the advanced facilities it provide and also it is easier to commute for me to the college and back to my home and vice versa. Everything you needaa know about your college.

I chose this college as it it ranked in the top 3 amongst the other 8 DU colleges which has this course. Also, the location i find it too convinient for me.
