Me and my college

I applied to VIT, Chennai earlier but when I got a seat in TIET, Patiala I skipped that option. The reason for this was that it was far away from my hometown. No, I fall under the general category hence I didn't go through any quota. For Biotechnology in TIET, the student doesn't need mathematics, and the admission is based on the merit basis i.e, Boards and NEET exam. The minimum requirement is 60% in class 12 and NEET qualified. There were various rounds of counselling before admission.

I wanted to pursue biotechnology in the future hence I opted for this. There are around 40-50 students in the batch, whereas around 15-20 faculty in the Department. The faculty is highly qualified. There are semester exams and even mid semesters. Also in between, there are quizzes and assignments in each subject. The exams are not tough to pass but tricky and depend upon faculty to faculty.

The companies visiting the offer different kinds of roles, like summer training, training which might convert to full-time employment. Many big core companies like Honey-well, Schneider take students for internships. The stipend amount varies from 10k-50k.

The college offers excellent placements for all branches. The highest package is offered by Apple. Core companies like Honeywell, Schenider, etc also take many students. My plans are to pursue a master's in Biotechnology major.

The college is quite expensive and so are the hostels. There are many kinds of scholarships available to meritorious students. However, I was not eligible for the scholarship. the students can apply for student loans as the bank facility is provided on the campus itself.

Although the fees are high, the college infrastructure is quite good. It has all the basic facilities like cafeterias, general store, dispensary and high-tech labs. It has a huge library. All classrooms have projectors and a few are equipped with AC as well. The college provides all sports facilities like basketball, tennis, swimming, running track. The hostels have their separate gym facilities.

Boys and Girls have separate hostels and the price for the same vary from hostel to hostel. Some have AC's while some don't, hence they are cheaper than prior. The meals are excellent and the staff in the hostel and mess is also very cooperative. they have 24*7 Ambulance services available too. The registration process is easy as all these are online. There are a lot of PGs located outside the campus.
