Remarks

I'm a 2nd-year B.Tech student. So starting from my preparation. I had prepared to my best and then given only three exams, one Jee main, 2nd UPSEE ( that's a state-level exam of UP but now from this year it is under jee ), and third for BITSAT.I was able to crack only two of these, jee main and UPSEE. During counseling I had applied to take some references such as, Best college - best branch Best college medium branch Medium college - best branch Medium college - medium branch Not gone below this. So these references during jee main had given firstly IIEST SHIBPUR with mining branch. But as I was not interested in this so I skipped it and applied for the special round so that has given me NIT- JAMSHEDPUR with Metallurgy. And the same references had given me IET, Lucknow from UPSEE with the chemical branch. As NIT provides a broad interaction so I preferred it over state College. So choosing college accurately is really a very big task.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

As I was getting NIT JAMSHEDPUR through counseling. So as per my percentile, I was on no way to gain top branches like Computers, ECE, EE , mechanical etc but was on way to gain Mettalurgy and it is best in it so I choosen same .

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Amazon, Goldmansachs, Adobe, TCS there are lots of companies that come in the campus but due to pandemic no. Of recruitng companies has just decreased from last time. Hoping during my time google, microsoft too can come . And my branch placement may go to 100%.

Placement Experience

4.5

I have planned only for placement. In my College this time 100% placement from Computers and 91 % from mettalurgy. From the 7th semester, students become eligible for placements. You may also apply for an internship from the 6th semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

As I'm a 2nd-year student so no internship. Because internship offers are from 3rd year and I have just entered 2nd year. In fact my 1st year result is still not coming. I have gained no scholarship. But yeah based on lots of criteria you may get them. There is one that has come just now that is ONGC.

Campus Life

4.5

As we all know because of the pandemic colleges are not opening so I have not gone to campus even for a single time. But as heard from seniors it will be good. Yeah, there are lots of tech teams and non-trch teams. I have also joined one club namely faces, it's for art. I have also joined Sankalp, an NGO.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

At BIT Mesra for our departments many cpre companies like Tatva Chintan, Laxmi Organics and Kanoria Chemicals were among some listed companies that came for placements. Luckily we are less in numbers and therefore 90% students from our batch were placed from here. My plans after getting the degree is to pursue masters from US.
