NIT Jamshedpur, only facts

My priority colleges during counselling BIT Mesra and NIT Jamshedpur. In the 6th round of counselling I got BIT Mishra but I didn't want to go into it due to the high academic fees. Lastly in the special round I opted for NIT Jamshedpur and I got the seat in electrical engineering. If you are near to 30k rank in JEE mains you can easily get admission in the circuital branches in NIT Jamshedpur. The counselling process is fairly easy it is conducted by Jossa. You just have to fill the choices according to your priorities and just allow the software to do its job

I chose electrical engineering because it is one of the circuital branches and placements are high in these. The faculty:student ratio is acceptable and is around 1:90. It comes to how eager you are to ask doubts and if there are any, teachers clarify it easily. All the teachers here are PHD and have an experience of more than 5 years. We have a semester of 6 months and there are two exams in between. The mid sem exams and the viva and end sem in an interval of 3 months. The question quality in the exams is really good. they test your concepts to the core.

Internships can be availed within the college and the city itself. The college provides summer internship for web developers and gives the opportunity of factory visit and internship opportunities in Tata Steel in Jamshedpur. The official internships happen in the 3 year of the college. There are student clubs in which seniors guide juniors for internships.

Being a central institute, the college fees is really affordable. Its around 1,16,000 for a semeter and if your family income is under 5 lacs you get a remission of two-third of the tuition fees. There is a e Kalyan scholarship by govt of jharkhand for economically backward students which can be availed easily by the help of college authorities.

The campus of NIT Jamshedpur is really lively and full of trees. Once you are adjusted it would feel like home here. We have a central library which consists of all the possible books for engineering and research journals and monthly magazines available. The lecture halls are well equipped with the latest technologies like projectors, podiums, automatic occupancy lights, staircase design and air conditioning. It has a capacity of nearly 100 students. The hostels are really big occupancy for all students. Only in the first year I have to share with the student from second year onwards we get a private room. The meal quality is good and the menu is decided by the students of the hostel itself. There are separate hostel buildings for 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students and it is equipped with an open air theater.
