Remarks
I have applied for three colleges of Delhi University. These are kirorimal, Ramjas, Hindu college. My first preference was Hindu college and its cut off matched with my percentage. So I took admission in Hindu. The percentage required to take admission in Hindi course is 85% and above for the general category student and there is no such age restriction as I know but the student must have passed 12th either in 2016 or 2017. Few documents were required to take admission, they were the 10th mark sheet and 12th mark sheet, transfer certificate and migration certificate.
Course Curriculum Overview
I have a great interest in journalism and wanted to pursue mass communication after my bachelors so I took Hindi. Teacher student ratio is 1:45. There were a total of 11 faculties in the Hindi department and they were highly qualified and experienced with a degree of PhD. A total of four times, exams were taken. Two were semester exams and two were mid semester exams. If you have read at least for a month seriously, you surely will score passing marks.
Internships Opportunities
The Hindi honours students with good speaking and writing skills got internship opportunities as a content writer and editorial head with the Hindi news channel. It's easy to get placement throughout the year. Some are stipend based, some are just certificate based. But in my experience I can say its really important to boost one's CV, to develop one's personality and it has many other benefits. There are NGOs also like Sankalp, ummed, tulsi that offers the role of the data handler, campus ambassador, content writer etc.
Placement Experience
Our college provides placement through the placement cell. As I wasn't interested in getting placement so I don't know much about the placement benefits. A friend of mine got selected by a company and was offered 10 lakhs per annum in the initial stage along with other benefits. Around 30% of my batchmates got placement. Companies like Samsung, phone pay, Paytm, Wipro and many more visited us. The highest package offered was 14 lakhs per annum.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee of my college is a bit high than other colleges like Gargi, Daulat Ram, ramjas, Kirorimal etc. I don't know the reason behind it. For the three years, I have paid around 56000 INR. I am not from a very strong family so I applied for few scholarships such as E-Kalyan, the national scholarship portal. I don't know whether the college provides any financial assistance or not.
Campus Life
For students who are extroverts, life will be easy here but for the introvert life is very difficult. It will become hard for them to interact with new people. The annual fest is Zeitgeist and it lasts for two days includes several games, food, celebrity night, DJ night and many more. Apart from the annual college fest, there are several departments and society fest starts from January and lasts till March. It has two libraries. It's quite big. Students are allowed to take books for 12 days after registering themselves they can re-issue them for 7 days. Hindus have their own parliament, a prime minister, president and other separate cabinet ministers post.
