Remarks

College management is really good. People in the college administration are very cooperative. I remember several instances when they were really helpful. You can imagine they have sent important study material, previous year question papers by post for the student who was on medical leave.

Entrance Preview

I was admitted on the basis of XII marks which you should have >90% nowadays. There are other ways to get into which include sports quota.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

It was good. I Studied Botany as the main subject for 3 years and Chemistry and Zoology as electives for two years. Electives are just qualifying papers so their marks are not added up in percentage calculation and only main subject marks are count and added to the final result.

Internships Opportunities

NO, at that time it didn't but now they do facilitate internship to different institutes in India as well as abroad like University of Wisconsin-Madison and several other US universities.

Placement Experience

4

Usually, students do not take placement from my stream which was Botany. But I know some students from my department who got good jobs at UN and several other related organizations. Some of them cleared civil services exams and several of them went for MBA at IIMs.

College Events

4

There are several events celebrated in college there is the Welcome party in July then freshers party in August, the departmental trip in October, Annual fest of Sanjeevani in November then College fest in December. And fests in other departments go on till march.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Since its a Government College, the fees is not much. Fees in Science subjects is about 10K per annum. And believe me it worth. There is annual fee system you have to deposit 10K at the beginning of the session then next year again as you transit into next year. Fee is much less than most private colleges.

Fees and Financial Aid

Of course, you can take the education loan for a duration of entire course work. Several banks provide easy education loan. Although I did not avail any. There is KVPY scholarship for graduate students in our department and all other Science subjects like Industrial Chemistry, Zoology, Chemistry etc.

Campus Life

3

Campus life is very vibrant. You will meet all kind of students, science geeks, Athletes who represent national teams, Gym freaks, keen debaters, dancers and artists. You will find students from different states of India as well as foreign students from different countries. Canteens and botanical garden are places for intellectual discussion. There are cultural events and sports competitions that go on all the year.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

NO HOSTEL FACILITY was there during 2005. But I heard from one of my friends that they have started a hostel in campus premises. It is great. As I heard its like a 3star hotel but you have to pay good charges for staying in the hostel and once your final exams are over you have to vacate the rooms.

Alumni/Alumna

I know this is one college whose alumni you will find everywhere. I know as soon as I passed my BSc and moved to MSc, Ph.D. everywhere there were faculties from our department. Our college has such strong alumni network, you go in any circle whether its civil service, multinational companies, media or science you find someone from the college.

Exam Structure

It was really hectic so many internal exams in which you are supposed to score good as these marks are added in final marks. And then there were surprise tests almost every week. So need to be ready for the exams all the time. Although it was not like a Medical college but you have to study to get through.

Admission

I was admitted way back in 2005. During that time I had to fill a centralized offline form and give preferences of colleges for the selected course then on the basis of the merit list college was allotted. Even now the admission process is almost same but it is online so it is much easier to fill a form from your native city. You need not travel to Delhi.

Faculty

4.5

The Faculty is highly qualified faculty to student ratio at that time was 1:9. Even now it is quite the same. They take care of each of every student in the class put efforts to teach them particular subject. There are extra classes just before exams. There are frequent educational trips all over India.

Companies like Google, Deloitte, KPMG, HDFC Bank, Maruti Suzuki, McKinsey, etc visited our college for placements and recieved over 200 placement offers in the latest year 2025. Highest package of Hindu College is 36.5 LPA and the average package is 11.4 LPA. Hindu College has a high placement rate of 95% of eligible students securing a placement here. My plan is to prepare for UPSC or SSC-CGL after my degree.
