Remarks

Entrance Preview- I appeared for the state-level engineering exam i.e, WBJEE(West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination), in which I scored 12000 ranks and had ample choice of colleges in my hand. I choose this particular college because the course I wanted to pursue, i.e, ECE(Electronics & Communication Engineer), is the best in the Academy Of Technology because of its infrastructure and faculty.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Course Curriculum Overview-So, In our college the course I m pursuing, i.e ECE has a pretty much similar curriculum to any other college in India but the thing which made it different is the professors especially the mathematics professor. The syllabus of the college is decided by the MAKAUT board. ECE course has many practicals which are done efficiently in our college, none of the labs is treated as unimportant, The faculties make the student fully Industry prepared so that none of the students gets unemployed which is a major plus point. The course ECE has a total duration of 4years with two-semester in each that is similar to any B.tech Branch. Our final CGPA is counted on basis of the internal, assignments, internships, and projects. Each semester has two internal examinations. Apart from the course syllabus our college also focuses on each student's problem solving, communication, leadership skills. These all things make the student get fully prepared to crack any company interview.

Internships Opportunities

5

Majorly students from CSE, IT, and ECE get internships through college while the core branches get these things off-campus but yes college provides full assistance especially the faculties guide the students about internships. The most common internship in our college is of TCS as our college has a tie-up with TCS so select the students by taking a small aptitude test. During the internship period, the student gets a stipend of around 5-8k. Many students get a pre-placement offer from the company which is a great thing, especially in TCS. Also, TCS organize the codevita platform through which they select many students and offer them jobs and this thing is quite popular in AOT almost every student is encouraged to learn Programming so that they could crack codevita and secure a good job, which has both pros and cons as the non-cse branch students has to learn programming along with their core subjects. Overall, the college provides ample internship opportunities.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placements-In AOT, there is a separate committee to brush up the students for placements. The internship starts from the 5th semester and the placement on campus starts at the end of the 7th semester. The student needs to score a minimum of 7CGPA to sit for placements. Many companies visit for the on-campus recruiting some of them are TCS,Wipro, Infosys, Amazon(majorly for sales), IBM and many more. The avg package offered by these companies is around 4-5LPA and the highest goes up to 12-14LPA. Our college doesn't hide any information regarding placement It always gets updated on their website along with the student's name and branches those who get placed which is a good thing and every college should do this. Around 99% CSE , IT and ECE students get placed if not core then in I.T companies but the core branches like mechanical and civil have placement percent of around 75% but it is increasing every year. overall what I have heard from seniors is that placement is quite decent.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee Structure- This is the best thing in this college, So the total fee for my 4year B.Tech(ECE) only cost me 324000/-. This fee structure for any other college in Kolkata is quite impossible and this stands out from our college from other colleges. In each semester we need to pay around 42k which is highly affordable apart from it our college provides scholarships for meritious students based on their CGPA, also bank loans are easily available apart from all these there is one best scholarship named Swami Vivekanand Merit-cum-means Scholarship, our college has a tie-up with this government scheme which makes easy for any student having more than 75% in HSC and from West Bengal Board can get a yearly scholarship of 60000rs. The highly affordable fee structure encourages many students to get into our college especially the economically backward class of people which is the best thing. Overall, the college fee structure is feasible and has a great education.

Campus Life

5

Campus Life- The campus of our college is much big than any other college private college except Amity University in Kolkata. The campus size is 10acres with greenery everywhere, when we enter the college the first thing we notice is a big lake in the middle of the college with trees around it and this increases the beauty of the campus exponentially. Our college also has a library with a varied collection of books anyone in their free time can read them. Apart from studies the faculty members also encourage the students for physical activities for this our college has a basketball ground and also a football ground which is located near the hostel. Our college organizes two fests each year called Arcadia in which many celebrities perform and is quite fun to see them performing live apart from this our college also organizes Tech Fest in which many students show their talent in robotics, machine learning, and A.I. Overall we can enjoy but also need to keep mandatory 75% attendance.

Placement Experience:

I’d rate HIT’s placement opportunities as 7.5/10 overall. It’s very good for CSE, IT, and ECE, decent for Electrical and core branches, and improving every year with more companies visiting and better preparation programs. If you’re skilled and consistent — especially in coding, communication, and aptitude — you’ll almost certainly get placed before graduatin

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months

For campus placements student become eligible from the 7th semester onwards and for internships student get eligible from 5th semester onwards. Wide no of companies visited our campus around 180+ and made around 580+ offers to the students. The highest salary was 58LPA which was offered by DE Shaw and the highest accepted salary was 51LPA in Microsoft. The average package rolls roughly around 10-12 LPA.The profile offered include SDE roles, management roles, finance in some cases. The overall placement percentage was around 80% with Branches like electrical and metallurgy moving above 90% followed by CSE and ECE in the mid 80s while for biotech and civil the placement percentage are generally below 70.My plans after getting the degree is to land a job offer from on campus placements.Therefafter maybe look out for and MBA from top B schools of india.
