Remarks

SPM is an excellent college for those who are looking for a girl's college. Admission is done both in online and offline mode on the basis of merit (class 12th grade) as well as through CET i.e Common entrance test. Each course has a different cut off which you are required to have to get admission in a particular subject. The cutoff of each course for the reserved and unreserved classes is different. There is no personal interview or counseling for admission, you'll get selected on the basis of merit. For admission, you are required to provide a copy of certain documents like Adharcard, 10th marks sheet,12th mark sheet, TC form, Migration certificate, character certificate, etc. They provide different Undergraduate and post-graduate degrees in humanities, commerce, computer science, and mathematics. It also provides some professional courses like B.Ed. and B.El.Ed. and certificate courses like Beauty culture, counseling, and Psychotherapy, stenography English, Embroidery, cutting and tailoring etc.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

So I'm still a student at SPM college. I have chosen BA Geography honors as I have an intense love for geography. My course is divided into 6 semesters, each year is of 2 semesters. Faculty members are just excellent they all are doctorate, have good experience of teaching at the same time they are polite and humble as well. Due to covid, classes are going online, faculty teach through PPT in both the mediums Hindi as well as English. They use to provide propers notes also. Exams generally happen offline only but this year it was online in OBE(Open Book Examination) mode. Class strength also remains less. My class strength is 54 in which we are divided into 3-4 groups for different subjects and it's good each teacher has less no. of the student to carry, it decreases the burden of students as well as teacher, teaching becomes easier, they pay more focus on each and every student. They also conduct extra classes to clarify their doubts.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are many internship opportunities provided by the college. There are many companies that are linked to the college and provide internships. It is also linked to Internshala. Students from all courses are eligible for internships. This happens in online mode.

Placement Experience

4

The college has around 60-70 % placement cell in which students are placed from my college. The different companies that visited my college are Amazon, Myntra zone media, etc. The average package offered by my college is 2-3 lakhs. The student gets opportunities to work from home as well as from locations like Noida.

Fees and Financial Aid

The annual fees of the college depends on the course that you choose. Each course has a different fee structure. For my course, i.e geography honors it was (1st year) Rs9880/-. They also take exam fees. They use to provide different scholarship opportunities as well, you can get information regarding that from the college's official website.

Campus Life

4.5

We have a regular fest in the college called 'SRIJAN'.We have a separate college auditorium for the functions. We also have a big double story reading room or library with plenty no. of books. It is fully air-conditioned. We do have a sports campus as well. It provides different sports opportunities to participate in. We used to have inter-state, college, etc events. We have different student clubs or groups like 'Navrang ' which is the theater society of the college, artistry society for arts and crafts, NCC, NSS etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

British classics, Indian writing, postcolonial literature builds a strong foundation in literary analysis, critical thinking, and interpretation, which are useful skills. As for comprehensiveness, the curriculum is quite broad. It covers multiple literary periods, genres, and critical theories over the three years, so you’re not really missing out on the essentials. In that sense, it feels academically complete. But sometimes, it leans more towards breadth over depth you move quickly from one topic to another.

There's a placement cell and placement drives do happen in college but genuinely the package offered is not really considerable. After the 4th semester students are considered to sit in the placement drives though I would say it is not very efficient and fruitful.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The reason why I choose this subject because I like history and want to know more about it . History have the best opportunities to pursue the UPSC , Anthropology, archeology and we can learn more about historical researches . The faculty im the department of history is updated and well versed in the field of history and have adopted student friendly teaching methods which make me suggest this subject in JMC to the students who likes to pursue higher studies in history. The exams are conducted at the end of every semester with moderate difficulty level .
