Remarks
I had applied for BSC (Hons) mathematics at Shyamal College. I get my admission in the fourth cut off of the college, the cut off for BSC(Hons) Maths was 90.75. The admission process was smooth. We have been provided sufficient time by the University to get ourselves enrolled in colleges. The reason why I choose Shyam Lal College was NCC, being a defence aspirant I was always fascinated by joining NCC and Shyam Lal College met my requirement providing BSC (Hons) maths and NCC both.
Course Curriculum Overview
Maths was my all-time favourite subject so as a maths freak I wanted to opt for BSC (Hons) Maths. The faculty of mathematics at Shyamal College is outstanding except for some. The faculty members are very helpful and kind. Almost every professor have a great past experience of teaching. In Delhi university colleges exams held two times in a year known as semester exam. Every semester exams include internal + practical + project work. Although it is not too hard to pass the exam. The level of the exam is average.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees structure is very simple, every individual has to pay an amount of 20,000 approx (this amount can vary with the course you applied for) every year. And During the year students don't have to pay any other fees except the examination fee before semester exams which is around Rs 1220 (for maths Hons). The college also provides scholarship or fee waiver for the EWS and SC/ST students. There is no job on campus for the student.
Campus Life
The campus life is full of enjoyment and joy with some stress of assignments. There are many types of societies in the college like the drama society, dance society and alot. Every year at the beginning of the year annual fest is conducted by the colleges in which celebrities from Bollywood, Punjab music industry are welcomed. The Shyamal College provide different sports facilities like Hockey, Cricket, Baseball, Kabaddi, Volleyball. Shyamlal college has the title of biggest hockey ground and champion in hockey in the whole Delhi university colleges.
