What Students Say
Likes
- The faculty is well qualified. Academic wise the college is good.
- There are a lot of society's where students can get to learn a lot.
- Library is fine gets somewhat updated time to time.
Dislikes
- The infrastructure is pretty bad. Not a lot of amenities in the college.
- Only got a hockey ground that to only for college team. No sports or extracurricular activities for normal students.
- Placement cell is ran by the students itself. College barely supports them to get companies. Very low packages and conversion rate is 5-8%.
Course Curriculum Overview
When compared to a simple course and hons courses gas more value in itself. The curriculum of delhi university looks a bit outdated as there is no practical exposure when every employer is demanding real world experience. Courses in du are just study and pass the exam and get the degree. The exams happen every 5 months.
Internships Opportunities
The companies are not at all renowned with very basic roles. Alot of companies do not give paid internship. These companies are also called by students with the minimal support of college. Students getting internship or getting placed or not it doesn't really matters to college at all.
Placement Experience
Even 1st year students can get a placement if they are able to convert it during the placement fair. The only 1 renowned company which visited and which I knew was zomato back in 2024. It also paid the hightest package ever around 6.5 lpa. Only 5-8% students get placed. Most of the students of this college prepare for govt exam or prepare for their pg exams.
Fees and Financial Aid
Annual fees for bcom hons is 25500. Course Total fee around 75000. Registration fees on delhi university portal before admission 200. Examination fees in sem 1 is 2000. Sem 2 and further semesters it is per paper fee will roughly cost a total of 1500. Practical subject fees is seperate as well.
Campus Life
On the name of annual fest a very small fest is organised at a very small level. Can not say it as a fest. Their are 10s of society's in the college and each society does their own annual fest which is even smaller and at a very low budget for it to be called as a fest. No sports facilities for normal students. College teams of cricket and hockey.
Admission
I had only applied to the colleges of delhi university. I thought I would get a better a college somewhere in North or atleast in south campus. You have to give cuet exams and score somewhere around 670 (according to cuet 2024) to get this college and course.
Faculty
It depends on person to person and there are always exceptions. Faculty is very well qualified but some of them are complacent towards their work ethics. Most of the teachers are supportive and great at teaching as well. They are approachable and well. Their are total of 7 exams in hons courses ,3 are your major with 4 credit each and an additional general elective exam with 4 credit(you get to choose your subject from a lot as your general elective) and then 3 minor exams of 2 credit each (2 out of 3 , you get to choose from a list of subject as your subject).
Night Life
College is situated in east delhi Shahdara. Not a very colorful when we say nightlife. But still the college can be considered in city centre and is very well connected with metro. You can go around in other places of delhi. No hostel facility.
