Remarks

First I have got a chance to study at NIT Durgapur Is the best opportunity for me. Actually, In our Indian families, the boy or a girl from an IIT/NIT has another level of reputation. So when I wrote IIT-JAM & I applied to CCMN I got NIT-Durgapur. Then I asked my brother who is already from IIT-K. He told me that he once visited NIT-DGP & It has a good environment so lock the seat in this round don't go further and from there I did the same. I locked my seat & took admission at NIT-DGP.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

As I am from Mathematics department. I will say whole the faculty is so good & supportive. They always try to solve each & every issue which you are facing against your study. As I remember when our batch started some of our proffers were teaching with ppt so some of the students from my batch faced difficulty in that. So they said this to Pinaki sir to request the faculty for using a whiteboard or one note for teaching us. From the next day, most of the teachers started teaching us with one note or using the whiteboard.

Internships Opportunities

4

Yes, our college also provides Summer & winter internship in many fields. As in terms of stipend, I think it is approx 5k per month for your project work & other expenses. All the departments provide atleast 2 months of summer & winter internship.

Placement Experience

4

The placement is quite good. For our course or for PG students we are eligible to sit in the placements from the 3rd semester. But some of the students also prefer to go for higher studies instead of making placements. Many companies visit the campus every year like Microsoft, Paytm, TCS, Amazon, Cognizant etc. The highest package for PG students offered last year was 32 lacks.

Fees and Financial Aid

In the 1st sem, our fee was approx 31000 rs. which included 10000 rs. Refundable fee. So overall for our course the fee will be about 50000 per year. Some of us also getting inspire scholarship and many more.

Campus Life

4

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation, the batch of 2020 is not able to come to the campus. So all the event were held online. Our college tech fest AAROHAN was also online this year. Online study material & ebooks were provided to us. There are so many clubs in our college like dance club, music club, Hindi society, etc.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostel fee structure is about 10k per year except for the mess fee. The hostel infrastructure is so good. There are mostly 3 seater rooms available for UG & PG student. But for PHD scholars there are single-seater rooms available.

The placements are very good for BTech students. As I don't know much about Mtech but M.Sc placements are also good not too good but average. BTech has the best placements because many companies offer them job as this college is NIT level college.

If the student is quite serious to go for a PHD after completing his MSc from here, I would say it is a great choice but if one is looking for the option to explore some other field after completing his MSc from here, I wouldn't recommend of getting a degree from here.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus structure of KU is totally based on the IIT JAM exam syllabus. That helps students very much in future preparation for Ph.D. Also KU offers special classes for competitive exam preparations including SPSC or UPSC as well as helps to get placements in the private sector. And professors are very highly qualified they can teach this syllabus in depth and with care

Course Curriculum Overview:

The program curriculum encompasses Biological Sciences as well as it could have been. It is very elaborate comprising every branches from Instrumemtation and Methodologies to Cell Biology, Genetics or Molecular Biology for that matter. You are ought to have three theory papers and two practical and Grand VIVA papers each semester with a total of 4 semesters over two years. In the last semester, you need to prepare your dissertation. The papers include all the basic concepts and their applications and demands hard hours. I believe the syllabus can be relaxed a bit and the number of papers per term expanded and compartmentalised so as to reduce the load of individual papers. All the faculties are very supportive and Friendly and appreciate doubts and queries always.
