This college is well known for its geography department in Delhi University, the environment is well suited for studies and the department is well equipped with all the necessary materials, the professors are helpful. The admission process was entirely based on merit(percentage in class 12)
Course Curriculum Overview
Geography is a dynamic subject with a lot to explore, the professors are well qualified and the teaching is upto the mark, all grievances are taken care of, there are about 45 student and 6 to 7 teacher in 2nd year, the term exams are held from time to time based on the semester exam pattern
Internships Opportunities
The Internship section of the Placement Cell witnessed a massive success in its first year, with over 30+ companies providing summer and winter internship and live project opportunities for this session. The companies offered these opportunities in varied profiles, enabling our students to enhance their skill sets and providing them with the much-needed corporate exposure and experience, in the area of their interest. Some of our major recruiters in this session include, the Yes Foundation, Consumers India, Glinks International, Decathlon, Crumples papers, Gobarefoot, Quikkloan, Umeed, etc. Most of these opportunities have been accompanied by a good stipend, with Yes Foundation and Decathlon offering the highest stipend of Rs. 10k, followed by Gobarefoot at Rs. 8k.
Placement Experience
The Placement Cell of Kamala Nehru College does a good job. Many companies approached the college for placements (on and off-campus included). Various job profiles were offered and it included students from diverse courses, placement is good. Top companies like EY, Wipro, Google Adwords, and KPMG recruit few students and offer them a package of 3-3.5 lakh.
Fees and Financial Aid
It is a central University with a minimum fee, The are many scholarships available based on merit and scholarships for reserved classes of society. I did not apply for any yet, will apply on 3rd year
Campus Life
The annual cultural fest of Kamala Nehru College (KMC)'Ullas was a cultural extravaganza, and it was regarded as one of the breeziest fests this year in the varsity. We have societies like Snapshots (the photography society), Lakshya (theatre), Expressions (creative writing), Cross-fire (debating), Enigma (dance), Glitz (fashion), Zephyr (western music), Sangeetika (Indian music) and many many more. The Library here is considered on of the best with all the facilities
