Remarks

This college has provided me with way more facilities within this short span of time. situation in a hot district like Palakkad , Yuvakshetra Institute of Management studies is a completely green campus with mind-blowing atmosphere and extraordinarily good service. Though I would like to mark the fact that certain facilities are quite expensive but still it never fails to mold the children and pave way to their success .Though it is an unaided college in the city of kongad ,it still provides various opportunities within the restrictions of being an unaided college .It even began National Service Scheme in the year of 2020 which was restricted to govt colleges only for a few years. Though the college was for hotel management only , within a few years they expanded the number of courses and made it a college with various courses which include MBA ,BBA ,BSc, B.com, BCA etc. Another thing to mention are the trading centers that are available with staying rooms and food. I got here on merit basis.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose BSc mathematics. I chose this course due to my immense love towards math's. There are enough and more staff so as to take care of all the students of YIMS. For an instance, For English being a vast yet common subject among all the students, each class is taken separately for separate classes mostly by separate teachers so that there is no way a student isn't taken care of . They are not only well qualified for their designated posts but also very friendly, and approachable that we never hesitate whenever we have doubts. They give equal importance to both academic and cocurricular activities and is never just exam oriented. They teach us really well , again not just for exams but for our personal development . The exams are of strict standard just how the universities would conduct but they prepare us well enough to face them without fear. Apparently I have to say that the teaching here is one of the best!

Placement Experience

5

3rd year students are eligible for campus placements . Many students are getting campus placements in the middle of their 3rd year itself and they re most likely to join at the end of their course. I am planning to give an attempt in civil service examination and have been preparing for the same since 8th STD. I wanted to give a year for preparation after finishing my degree course and then go for it.

Fees and Financial Aid

For BSc mathematics, 84000 is not that big an amount as compared to other unaided colleges. Though there are certain other courses were the cost is a bit high but that totally balances the fabulous quality education they provide us with. The facilities indeed compensate the little high fees on certain courses but then again there are courses which are provided with low fee structure as well. And the way they utilize the fee is what would make us feel a lot better. They have all sorts of trees and plants even the ones that bear fruits and the fruits can be plucked by the students to eat . Another small thing I would like to mention here is that when due to mistakes committed by students in the campus, the fine is told to be put into a donation box so that they could donate it for charity! Overall even if you feel that the fees is high, which I don't think actually is, you'd feel relieved as you aren't just paying but donating too.

Campus Life

4.5

It is always important here to give value to cocurricular activities as well as academics. Due to Covid crisis, I don't know much about the fests , but being a bibliophile myself I couldn't resist the urge to go to the library and viola! We have all sorts of books there and the place is so reading friendly . They are divided in genres and each genre is in a different shelf with labels so that we could easily find books of our concern. There are enough windows and fans for airflow and enough tube lights for proper lighting and the classroom has enough space and benches for children. Sports is also given much importance and volleyball , basketball, badminton and other such sports are given well training to students for free ,there is a gym as well.

Interview Experience

4.5

As my admission was on merit , I wasn't asked for a detailed GD or interview . But still the students who were not from the merit quota were interviewed by the vice principal just for knowing the capabilities and ineffectiveness of the student . Even for the merit quota students there was a short interview where the questions were rather logical and general and not to test the academic excellence of the child .

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is almost best. Curriculum doesn't influenced me in deciding this course. Curriculum should add internships. Currently there is no mandatory internship, if students are interested they can do internship during vacations. As we are learning psychology which need to be practiced in real world settings, curriculum must include real world training to help students understand things more effectively. Currently intervel between exams are non existent. Internal exams, then semester exams, you blink once, next internal exams, followed by semester exams. Syllabus is understandable, can learn if you try. Exams are also manageable. Real world examples and stories can be included in teaching methods, as psychology is related to humans and human interaction, to get better grasp of concepts. Rather than focusing on passing exam, should focus on the concepts and understand them in-depth. There are a lot of theories to study by heart. And there are many repetitive topics that overlap, but in different semesters.

I feel in love with mathematics in plus two time. The coursee are more application based when compared to other. Out college being an autonomous college has good grip to keep up to the level of good education. Overall teaching methods and syllabus are very good. Frequency of exams are troublesome during the last time of year because all the programmes like youth festival annual day etc come together

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is Bsc Biotechnology. It is a research associated course. Its main scope is in research. But in every industry let it be medical or industrial a biotechnologist is required. I would like more practical knowledge than theory knowledge in this course as it is needed to be implemented in labs hands on experience is essential. Exams are conducted every 6 months as semester. Class tests and model exams are conducted frequently. Assignments, projects, seminar ,etc.. are given every month.
