Remarks

Since in Delhi university this is the only college which provides bachelor and master degree in a foreign language. The college has associations with the foreign countries universities such as in Italy"university of Rome".You have to just apply for the merit list to get your admission which is out in the month of August to September. There is no entrance to get admission in this department. It totally depends on your class 12 board marks. It is preferred over JNU because JNU has very few seats and most probably the entrance exam is also very tough.Italian honours is also available in Amity university but the fee structure is very high in amity. So Department of Germanic and Romanic Studies in Delhi university is the best choice.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose this course because the Italian language has great importance in the I.T sector especially companies that trade with Italy. The salary package for the Freshers is also quite good. The faculty is excellent as they don't let you down on any point. Since it's a new language they made me understand and everything. Faculty members had done their M.A and PhD either from Rome or Delhi university itself. Term exams are quite easy and usually are every after 5 months. Like the first semester exams are in march then the next will be in August or September.

Placement Experience

2.5

The campus is mainly famous because of its placement cell only. The company which always visit our campus for the last 6 to 7 years is Amazon. There is the same salary package for nearly all the students that is 6 lakh per annum. Nearly 40% of the students get the placement. In which 2020 there were 10 placements made out of 30 students. If you can't get placed by the placement cell there are wide options in this field where you can apply. Is many of the MNCs deal with trade with Italy so they need a translator who had a great knowledge of the Italian language. You will get a lump sum or more or less the same packaging that companies.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is Rs-3150/- per anum. It's very budget-friendly. Scholarship facilities are not there and also there are no campus jobs. But there are placement facilities. If you want to do any internship you have to do on your own, there is no college involvement in this process.

Campus Life

3.5

Since its department is not that big, to conduct fest. But there are many small gathering-type programs like the German French Italian Day celebrated. The department has the biggest library in Delhi university and is also the most famous. In the library, you will get each kind of book. The classroom is well furnished. The rooms are bright. Sports are not available in the department. Also, there is no social group or clubs. But there is a website name is grs.du.ac.in. this is the official website of this department.

Other Applied Colleges

Course Curriculum Overview:

Too vague to understand, feels extra burden of unnecessary irrelevant topics , extra papers like SEC/VAC simply add to the burden while barely providing with any skills and values as their name suggests . Studying them and preparing for exams add extra stress and unnecessary burden on them , diverting their focus from their core papers , which are already too huge and they study materials or readings simply fail to assist . Areas for improvement would be - proper structured study materials , also proper structured practical subjects / papers for students where they can actually learn or gain knowledge/skills which will be advantageous in their future .

I specifically chose Economics and history to study because I had an interest in both. Economics is pretty self explanatory, learning about how the world economy works is interesting. History on the other hand is interesting because you get to know how civilization and society developed.

German course has high demands and in germany there are relevant chances that I can get good paying jobs,I would say that the teachers are really nice, if you study well they will help you alot and are really appreciable, I would say there are none to improve because it's kinda easy to study the subject on your own, the difficulty of exams are what it should be like, it's good it's great, to make you a better person and student, and the time duration they give is enough to solve each and every exams
