Ahmed's Review On Heritage Institute Of Technology - [HIT], Kolkata

WBJEE, My rank was 6000. I had initial counselling to get into this college. At this rank, I was left with applied electronics and instrumentation and Bio technology seats only. I opted for applied electronics and instrumentation, only four seats were left.

Course structure is quite OK , not so tough. We read around 40 subject, if I am correct. Departmental teachers were excellent. Beside technical subject, few subjects like Humanity, Economics for Engineer,Soft skill were also there. Laboratories were also well equipped. Lab assistant were highly trained.

College never provide any paid internship but provide free of cost training in Advanced PLC and automation training institute.

Most IT companies visited our campus like Infosys, Wipro, tech Mahindra, capgemini, ITC Infotech with an average package of around 3lakh. Beside IT, core company also visited for department like civil, mechanical,electrical with decent package which includes star cement, gkb optical, vikram solar, VA Tech Wabag.

Technical fest- Dakshhh, in which students from every part of West Bengal participated representing their college. Lots of event like Robotix, tech innovation, Cultural fest - Eclesia, in which cultural dance, drama,fashion show,plays and any renowned celebrity visited campus to put show for us.

Fees structure was feasible not to high, not to low. Loan and scholarships facilities was there, so no students dropped out due financial problem. The while course fee was divided into eight installment so it was quite easy to pay. Even the defaulters were given concession in late fee fine.

Loan facility and scholarships was there for financially weaker student. But I never availed any loan and scholarships from college but from West Bengal minority department.

Unforgettable campus life. Lots of extra curricular activities took place, honestly I never participated in any of those. Lab was good, well equipped and trained lab assistant. No ragging. Little bit politics were there. But no social discrimination. I think girls outsmart boys.

4 years divided into 8 semester and each semester divided into 2/3 class test from which best one or average of two is considered. It's true every day was quite hectic so miss classes but not lab because we can make up for missed classes but cannot do same for missed lab.

Faculties were good except few. We got Excellent faculty for Control Theory,Process Control 1&2, sensor and transducer, digital electronic,advanced Microprocessor.
