Remarks
This is the dream college of every commerce student of India and it deserves to be the same. The kind of exposure that it offers is what makes it stand out.
Course Curriculum Overview
The exam pattern is very good. The course is divided into 6 semesters. 5 marks are allotted for attending the classes and 20 marks for presentations projects research papers etc. The remaining 75 marks are tested in a 3 hour exam. This helps a lot in getting the practical as well as theoretical understanding. The concepts are clear and retention is high.
Placement Experience
My college has a dedicated placement cell and a number of companies visit on campus. The package ranges from 3.5 lakhs to 30 lakhs per annum. Deloite, EY, KPMG, PwC, BCG, Douche bank, WTW, RSA Acturials, ICICI bank, etc are some of the companies that visit on campus. The process is all transparent. We have to get registered on the online portal of the placement cell and get the CV vetting done. Then we apply for the companies as per the job profile and CTC offered. Then the selection is done by the companies in various rounds and finally we get to know the result of the process.
College Events
There are approximately 50 societies in my college. Each of them organise their own fest on annual basis as well as in between each semester. The annual feast of the college i.e. Crossroads is one of the most famous fest of the country. Very famous stars and performers perform each year. It is a 4 day fest. Also, business conclave is organised where highly successful people of various fields are invited to share their experiences. It is again one of the biggest such event of the country. There is a total footfall of around more than 25000 people in the crossroads each day.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee is approx 30000 per year for 3 years. It was not at all expensive. The kind of offerings in terms of smart class, highly qualified professors, world class library and auditorium, swimming pool, grounds, Centralized air conditioning etc, the fee is very much justified. The fee structure is pretty straight and all the transaction are done online (no cash).
Fees and Financial Aid
There are a number of scholarship opportunity in the college. Many funds exists which are used to offer help to the needy students. Most of the scholarships are on a merit cum need basis. Scholarship form needs to be filled and the same is screened by the management. Then there is a personal interview with the shortlisted students and finally the results are declared. The amount of college fee is generally reduced or exempted for the students who get the scholarship (10000-30000 generally). I was not eligible for any scholarship.
Campus Life
The campus life was the best as per my experience. Full of life. Everyday something or the other was organised by some of the society of the college. There is a large number of societies and everything that can be thought of was covered by them. Dance, music, singing, commerce, economics, marketing, stock markets, finance, literature, social services, debate, sports etc. There is a very well constructed auditorium with 4 badminton courts, basket ball court, 2 table tennis room, and 2 gyms. Workshops and seminars was a part of everyday college. As people from all over the country and even abroad take admissions, the experience of diversity and co-existence is also present. Strict anti ragging laws are in place for any wrong doers. The ratio of boys to girls was almost 1:1. The college offers best in class exposure, learning and overall growth.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes, there is a dedicated website for alumni and is very well designed as well as helpful. The alumni base of my college is one of the best in the country. Late Arun Jaitley, Journalist Rajat Sharma and numerous other great achievers have graduated from this college.
Admission
I had to apply on the delhi university website for admissions. Then the cutoff were announced for various colleges of DU. Then I went to the campus to fill the forms and submitted the fee online to generate the acknowledgement of admission. (July first week generally)
Faculty
There were around 75 lectures per subject and a total of 26 subjects. The average age of teachers was around 40 years. Some of them were qualified professors, assistant professor of Delhi University. They held various degrees of masters and some had completed their phd. They had a very good experience in teaching and most of them were the writers of the academic books that were a part of our curriculum.
